About the judging:
We realize that you all do vary in age. So, your poems will be judged on the following things AND we will also take your age into consideration so that the judging remains fair and unbiased.
1) The form of poetry you've chosen.
2) The length of the poem (was it too short/long to make your point)
3) Capitalization/punctuation/grammar/spelling
4) How well your poem fit with the guidelines of the contest
5) The creativity of your poem
PLEASE TYPE YOUR AGE IN YOUR AUTHOR'S NOTES! Thanks.
Rules:
1) Please make sure we can read your poem!
Distracting backgrounds or hard to see fonts are not good.
We want to see your poem, not your background.
2) Be sure your language is appropriate for young .
We should have to say it, but no profanity or "adult" topics.
3) Dark poetry is fine if you want to write it, but suicide or
self-harm topics will not be accepted.
That's it. Have fun and Good Luck!

just because we're 13 and under doesn't mean we want titles like:
Jiffy Pop
Mountain Dew Sunrise
Dove Elegance
Cremesicle Charade
Leap Frog
Hop Scotch
Jelly Bean Antics
Hippy Dance
Titles like this make some of us feel like you think we're still kids and we aren't. That's my take on all this. If I've offended you, I'm sorry. I just wanted to share my point-of-view.
-
-
Ah, well I'm sorry you don't like them. But not ALL the poets are 13. We have quite a few that are 10 and under, as young as 5 so we have to try and cater to everyone, not the 13 year olds only. Perhaps we should go back to leaving it to 12 and under poets only??
-
It's fine to share your point of view. That is why there are other titles there as well.
