This is a new favorite, but what had me add this poet to my favorite's list was the following poem:
I hope
Where is sailor? Three bells he yells
It's already four or more, I'm ship-shaped and ready
The tide is right for flight
I hope he hurries...
My planks creak with age, hull needs a scraping,
deck is scruffed and worn, but I don't leak,
I seek release, peace, a bon voyage
I hope he scurries...
I need wind in my sails, the oceanspray misting me
Sun permeates my seats, but this mooring is tiring
I peer at the pier, I feel anchored
I hope he worries...
I do... sigh

How wonderful of you to honor Nicholas this way, Carol. I'm quite sure he's blushing profusely right now.
I'll be back after work tonight to offer some words to the sea. Thank you for hosting. Good luck to all who enter. Be well, Poets.
