What I want you to do is...

Write the lyrics to a song;

I want no songs shorter than 30 lines (there's no maximum, just keep me interested)

I don't want StIcKy CaPs either
I don't want anything "adult"
I don't mind if you write dark/cutter/emo

Pre-written songs are permitted, but only your best, I don't want 20 songs from the same person if they're not worth the reading time...

Post as many times as you like; I just want entries that are completely separate and are worth my time...

The title of this contest is actually another name for one of my songs - "Crash and Burn like Fireflies"

    This contest has had a better turn-out than I thought I'd get on my first contest...
    I would like to thank all the entrants, you were all good. I gave as many honorable mentions as I could put (I have 11 points left).

    I decided the finalist list based on a few different things. Mainly, how they conformed to the rules of the contest.

    I got a few entries that didn't make the list because they weren't close enough to lyrics.

    After making the finalist list, I re-read all of the songs and gave them a rating out of a hundred(%).
    This is what I rated them:

    Whisper the bullets - 98 (gold)
    Your mistake - 95 (silver)

    hey

    i like the the idea for the contest seems great, but what song is 40 lines long? thats one long ass song. lol. Especially with some of the repitition in todays pop, power pop, and punk music. its not very long.

      You deserved many more points, but I didn't have the points to give...

      I was surprised to see you'd entered when I'd finalised the judging; One of the only contests I remember looking at in great detail was the "Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world"; It was enlightening to read where Fall Out Boy got their song name...

      I had so many ideas for entering, but I realised it was already closed for judging just after reading everything else...

      PS: I like the name (it reminds me of something I'd write - it reminds me of "curses the poison" too)...
