I am a firm believer that one can not truly know where they are going until they know where they've been.
For that reason I've never lost sight of the small home in the backwoods of Pennsylvania where I grew up with 6 other children...that to this day still sports an outhouse or the strong spirit that saw me through 17 years in an abusive marriage...from which I still sport scars and always will. These things are only part of what made me the person I am today, that started the path I am on, and lit the way to where I am going.
Your challenge in this contest is to connect to your roots, to take a look back and embrace those deepths or heights from wence you've came and to share them here in poetic form.
The rules are simple:
Choose any style or any form of poetry and tell me your story. Chat lingo, slang, and erotica will all be DQd from the contest unless they directly aid in the telling of your tell.
That's it, now have fun!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 10, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: Even though I only had 17 entries into this contest I was impressed by the caliber of the entries themselves. Judging, as always for me, was not an easy task. I do wish to thank you all for your entries and wish you all the best with your writing.

And sometimes you have to get lost to find your way.
A lovely contest theme. I doubt that I will be able to enter but I will look forward to reading all the entries.
