Give me your best....Haiku

Well guys this is my fourth contest now and i'm going for a more challenging theme for it, I have recently started to write in Haiku as i enjoy writing it and its a better challenge than writing normal poems, So i want inpsiration from all of you fantastic writers out there. For this contest i am allowing Pre-writes so be happy however i prefer fresh writes but i dont think i will get many poems otherwise I am putting NO OPTIONS on what i am after as long as its Haiku format.

Haiku format is:
3 lines
sylables 5, 7, 5

Each Haiku must contain a kigo, a season word, which indicate in which season the Haiku is set. For example, cherry blossoms indicate spring, snow indicate winter, and mosquitoes indicate summer, but the season word isn't always that obvious....小百合-Thanks Rose Tattoo for pointing that out

1. Keep to the formatt
2. No StIcKy TyPiNg- I hate it
3. Add Japan to your author notes

Well those are the rules I expect them to be follow and anyone who doesnt follow them even if they follow all but one will be automatically DQ as i am not in much of a friendly mood as i have exams a few days after i judge this so i will be very stressed and easily annoyed just as a warning, but follow the rules and there could even be hugs and roses
Well there you go have fun and Good Luck to ALL!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 10, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 300, Bronze: 150, Honorable mention: 17 people
  • Final notes:
Once again another contest has ended and i would like to say wow, Because you all follwed my rules i have decided to give all of you a reward, this is because i expected less people when i judged i dq about 20 people which is really disheartening for me as i loved all of the writes i received, the winner of the contest, Chill, i thought was just stunning alone with second and third place, if i could everyone would have gold but its not possible and my points didnt extend that long lol Thankyou so much for following the rules guys it meant a lot to me, i like all of your poems, some because they were funny, others because of the style of imagery they created and others for the pure genious behind them, I would like to thank Rose Tattoo and Desiree Darkk for giving me information about haiku considering i started this with knowing very little about them, Once again Thankyou all for entering and Congratulations to all of you for your well deserved rewards for true work of arts well done all

    Dreamer

Haikus are fun little exhaled breaths of fresh air but please fix your title. You should be your.

Also, if you have to tell what your poem is about in authors notes, your poem has failed to do what it's supposed to do.

Use any topic of your choice, i like dark and funny writes so possible higher chance of winning
Sadly there are rules which i want to have followed these are....Haiku couldn't be possibly on dark or funny write.

Haiku's are Japanese poems, normally about nature and humanity but which can vary into other areas….
I personally believe that they are the perfect way to capture thoughts...to immortalise a moment.

Each Haiku must contain a kigo, a season word, which indicate in which season the Haiku is set. For example, cherry blossoms indicate spring, snow indicate winter, and mosquitoes indicate summer, but the season word isn't always that obvious....小百合
