Well, not that I'd go and read this stuff by choice, but I came across some really intriguing words just yesterday (due to my reading assignment for my class). So...I thought they were pretty damn interesting, and could really be perfect for prompting all your poetic butts into a write!
So...c'mon...show this chick what you can do!!! But, don't drop the ball, 'cause I'm not gonna go and chase it for you!! Got it? Good!
U best believe you're gonna have to put the prompt number in your author's notes!!! I WILL CHECK!! (if you don't know how...ask me, or find out!!!)
Prompt #1
"It was foul, and I loved it. I loved my own undoing. I loved my error--not that for which I erred but for the error itself" -St. Augustine from his book Confessions, Book 2, chapter4
Prompt #2
"Fear recoils at the unfamiliar and the sudden changes which threaten things beloved, and is wary for its own security..." -St. Augustine from his book Confessions, Book 2, chapter 6
Prompt #3
Grief languishes for things lost in which desire had taken delight, because it wills to have nothing taken from it..." -St. Augustine from his book Confessions, Book 2, chapter 6
VERY IMPORTANT!!! READ...
I'm not asking for you to do anything but use these as your motivation and inspiration. Let them guide you in the direction which the quote was read and interpreted, by you!!!!
Rules:
1. must use the damn spell-check
2. Must be NO SHORTER than 20 lines...and don't make it a damn story either!!! *shake*
3. Any form will do
4. NO CUTTING/KILLING
5. NO RELIGION!!!!
6. MUST (AND I REALLY MEAN IT!!!) PUT WHICH PROMPT YOU ARE USING AS YOUR INSPIRATION!!! I MAY WARN YOU, AND I MAY NOT...SO DON'T TAKE THE CHANCE!! PUT THE NUMBER IN YOUR AUTHOR NOTES!!
Tis it!!
Good luck to you all, and i hope you're inspired to do nothing less than greatness!!!

- Final notes: i know i said i was going to judge it later in the week...but i'm soo burnt out on studying and reading that i had to take a break from school. Anyway...
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR ENTRIES. I have to say a few things to you all. First off, congrats to the winners (though I had to make you all winners...). Second, I was soo impressed with all your abilities to take these not so easy prompts and doing your absolute best with them. i really felt like you ALL gave me some really good quality poems, and to me, that's way better than quantity!! and last but not least, I added HM's for the rest of you, because I was just blown away by these poems. You all took the challenge head on and conquered it!!!
Thanks again, and goodl luck to all of you and your future contests!
