Give me your absolute best poem

Ok for this contest I just want to see what you view to be your best piece. It can be on any subject, but do pay attention to the rules as I'm not afraid of disqualifing entries which break them.

Rules
-----

1. Obviously prewrites are allowed, but if you feel that your on the edge of writing your best ever piece then stick a new one in.

2. Please try to avoid grammar and spelling mistakes. They're something that can be sorted out easily and they do distract from the piece. I won't DQ for this, but I will point it out in my comments and it will have an effect on my reading of the poem.

3. No bashing of any sort. No adult themes, I have that stuff blocked so if I can't read your poem then I can't judge it.

4. No religion, spiritualism, suicide or cutting. These kind of things can offend people, so lets keep the site a friendly place.

5. I will comment on every poem before judging. I can be harsh when it comes to that, so anybody being rude about what is essentially my opinion, will be DQ'ed.

6. Commenting on my poems or others in the contest won't get you brownie points as it is an anonymous contest and I want to keep it that way. As such I won't know if you do. However if you feel you want to comment then feel free to.

7. Repition for emphasis- Anonymous contest please keep it that way.

8. No line limit just try to keep it below 40 lines. Obviously though some of your best ever pieces won't be fitting that, but for new writes try to stick around that.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on May 2, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 200, Bronze: 150, Honorable mention: 7 people
  • Final notes:
Ok firstly I want to apologise for taking quite a while on this contest.

All of the entries were really good, but those who won trophies just completely blew me away. There were some outstanding pieces entered into this contest and I wish that I had more gold, silver and bronzze trophies to hand out! There were about 4 honourable mentions which I felt were truly magnificent as well, and they made judging this very tricky!!

Thank you to everyone for entering and I hope that I'll get to read more of your work in any future contests I hold.

    Sarah

    Judging

I am going to take my time over judging to make sure that I can give a full comment to each person and throughly read through their piece. I will hopefully have this done within a week.
