Being the emotional roller coaster that I am, I love sinking into something that is incredibly deep and beautiful. In this contest the idea is simple. Hit me with something so emotional it makes me cry. I'm going to allow pre-writes for SOME options, in the hope of getting something really good, but brownie points to fresh-writes =]
Not many rules but:
1. Max of three entries.
2. Play nice, some of these topics are incredibly sensitive.
3. I'm not sure how erotica would fit into this contest, so none of that please.
4. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Option stated in the authors box.
5. Swearing is OK if appropriate.
6. Although some fictional poems are actually beautiful, I want REAL emotions here. If it didn't happen to you, please don't submit it.
7. Pre-writes for each option are allowed unless otherwise stated. Ignoring this rule will result in DQing.
And your options are -
♥ Loss of someone close. I don't mean 'Oh, me and my b/f split up', I mean loosing a parent, friend, child or lover to death, sudden or expected. Please tell me who you've lost in the option box.
♥ NO PRE-WRITES FOR THIS OPTION Write about the suffering behind an eating disorder, or addiction to cutting/some other form of self harm. I do NOT want 'The blade slices up my flesh' or 'Bones pushing past skin'. I want how you FEEL. Talk abut the shame, the struggle, not the acts.
♥ Adoption. Just, anything. From the child's, or parent's point of view. This would mean a lot to me if you could enter under this option.
♥ Happy tears! Talk to me about someone you love, and why they make you want to cry with joy. Anything beautiful and romantic. No tragic love tales here please.
♥ NO PRE-WRITES FOR THIS OPTION Write about the suffering behind rape, domestic violence, child abuse and any other form of abusive behavior. Again, I do not want a simple narrative of what happened, please tell me how it's left you feeling.
Thankyou to all who enter under the given rules. I will not DQ without explaining my actions, so if you feel it is unfair please just talk to me, and do not be offended. I will allow re-entry of poems if they have been reworked or replaced.

- Final notes: Oh
My
Gosh
You guys!! These were all so so moving, and judging was so difficult! I had so many amazing entries I had to start being really mean when it came to putting people on the finalist lists. The poems about adoption and loss of love were the ones that hit hardest for me, but thankyou to all who entered, whatever option. Please do not be offended if you did not make the top 3, I really meant what I said on each comment, and I felt horrble not awarding all of them! Please, take your time to read the winners. They really are incredible.
All the best to you all, and thankyou so much.

Yeah, I've had some amazing pieces through, honestly so many could be added to the finalist list I'm having to be so mean to not add some of them. Also only started this today and it looks like it will be closing so soon. Thanks for the input =]

Thankyou, what was the name of your poem? Who has written what is hidden from me, so I can't match the option to the writing. Thankyou for entering though, it;s a topic very close to my heart.
