Hello fellow poets. As you can see by the title, I am in need of some uplifting poetry. But not for me.
So let me back up a little. A very dear friend, my soul sister, a member here at AP has been extremely ill for quite some time. A little over 10 weeks ago, she lapsed into a coma. I received a call a few hours ago that she come out of that coma. By all means, her rocky road is long and hard, but things are looking better.
I would really love to be able to send her some uplifting words for when she returns to AP. And knowing some of the kindest souls rest within the walls of this site, I am requesting all your help.
Obvious rules will apply. Please don't make me disqualify anyone, but I will if necessary.
And please refrain from too busy or bright backgrounds or fonts. Don't want to shock her first time she returns.
If points allow, I will up the prizes and/or add more HMs.
Please stop by her author's page to send Vickie some well wishes.

Thank you all in advance
I will comment on all pieces, but bear with me as I am going away next weekend.
Good luck

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 3, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: I want to thank each and every one of you for writing something for my closest friend and sister, to help lift her as she recovers. I apologize for the length in judging, but a very serious and personal issue has not allowed me more than mere moments on the site the past week.
I truly wish I could award everyone just for the simple fact that you entered something, but I am not able to do so.
Vickie is growing stronger every day and soon should be able to leave the hospital to at least a less restrictive facility.
Again thank you all and congrats.

Omigosh, I didn't know

I will see what I can come up with

I didn't tell because I wasn't sure what the outcome was going to be. As I said, still a long haul, but I want to be here to offer as much as I can to bring her back up.
Thanks so much Sandy

I will do my part to welcome her back. I'm sorry she has had such a nasty road. Sounds like she is very fortunate to be coming home. God bless, Rhon

no prewrites. I have a poem that would be perfect for this
-

Sorry, last time I opened a contest to prewrites for someone, I was completely bombarded with 48 prewrites and 2 original. Really don't want that again.
If I don't have many by Thursday, I will open the prewrite option.
