Choose your weapon

For this contest I want you to choose a weapon and tell me why in poetic form. Don't just describe it, give it meaning, give it life (subtlety is great!), give it a story (put it in a war, or just for show, WHATEVER) don't just say its sharp, and kills people, be original.

I want to see old fashioned weapons (NO GUNS/BOMBS/MINES/ETC)

Also, to create some originality
I don't want to see swords or axes either (if I let that happened, everyone would flock to that)

I want to see a picture of your weapon as well.

(PSST the more original the weapon the better, but that doesn't add/take away points for how well you write about it)

Need help finding a weapon?

I know I might be asking for much, but I want to try contests where people can put effort into it.

If you enter, best of luck to you.

AND ALSO: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, put the name of the weapon of your choice in your notes. PLEASE

Quick rules:
1. no bashing other people
2. no StIcKY CaPs
3. I don't mind eroticism/cursing, but keep it mild
4. No modern weapons like guns/bombs/grenades/etc
5. Also no swords/axes
6. Put your weapon's name in your Author's notes.
7. Upload a picture of your weapon if you can

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on April 28, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all for entering, especially those who entered late (I felt that this contest was doomed when only like 4-5 entries were submitted, but it finished with a respectable 9)

This was very hard for me to choose, I chose those in their proper place by their story and how they presented their weapon.

Once again, thank you all for entering, and good luck to all in their other contests.

    Too bad!

I have a story using a tree saw, but it's not a poem. I also have a story with a garrote. Oh well, I may try to come back. Nothing I enjoy more than penning murder and mayhem.

hehe I don't know many people who would label their tree saw as a weapon. it's more or less just a tool that can be used dangerously
