OK this is an options contest...... so here's the options
1. This is a bigg one! Write about alcoholism. what it's like to be a drunk. how it effects your family and you as a person. how you over came it. how much it hurts to watch friend or family go through it. no humor here. not a funny subject.
2. Football. Football as it is in small towns. Life. write about the glory days. the hard times and friday nights. (bonus)
3. Cowboys. As always I'm looking for quality poems about cowboys. let's go with rodeo cowboys this time ok? (: write about your favorite cowboy. or cowboys in general. real cowboys people not John Wayne.
4. Fear write about fear. your fears. fear in general. anything about fear. try not to be to dark.
5. Failure. write about failure. how it makes you feel. try to keep it general. this is an easy one to use medephors with. NO CUTTING or SUICIDE.
6. Loss. Write about the loss of a good friend or family. show me how close you were. remember the happy times.
7. tell me about a guy/girl you love but only watch from afar. some one you are curious about and want to be friends or more with but somthing is stopping you.
8. Pink ribbon. write about someone fighting breast cancer. or a survivor. write about their will.
*A friend recently lost his mother to breast cancer but she fought for four years when they only gave her three months.
9. Coldness. write about someone shutting you out. or shutting someone out. or you shutting someone out. another great metaphor one.
* I switched schools this year and I don't get to see my friend very often and we had been talking on the computer but recently he's been shutting me out.*
10. Word bank. I've never tried this but I might as well.
Use at least 5 words from he list.
soft
tender
cold
evil
horses
running
freedom
love
hate
why
sale
beauty.
11. Songs. use the line listed to base your poem.
"I'll bet she's beautiful, the girl he talks about"
"Big Timing in a small town"
"I just got back from hell"
"so fuck you I make my own plans"
"born country"
12. South/redneck/country. Write about the country. living there. loving it. what is it. why are the people so different.
OK Ya'll that's all for now. hope you have fun and write great.
