This is a contest for freeverse only.
Although many will not believe it, I love freeverse as much as I love rhyme, it is just I write more poems in rhyme.
In this contest I am not interested in freeverse with words cut down to the bare bone, I am interested in feel, good line breaks, and good flow, which sadly I have noted few freeverse poems have.
For your inspiration please use above picture, do not describe it to me, just go where it takes you.
Thank you Suseann for the points for the gold.
Rules:- no cutting, suicide, depressing,erotic

I swear Di, sometimes I'm starting to think that you've been traveling inside my head....DON'T DO THAT lol
I shall see what I can do -
could I have a link to a better look at that picture?

About this contest?
I notice several poems that have not been viewed by a judge, as I scroll down the page. My question is: why?? If your intent was to limit the contest to only a few select poets [friends], then why didn't you say so at the beginning? That way, us "marginal" peeps who are not on your friends list would not have taken up precious time and space, in order to not be viewed at all! Maybe you should try running a real contest just once, an anonymous one with equal chance for all, where all poems are read and weighed. And, if not, who cares, Di?
Goodbye,
Brazos -

Why throw a 'tantrum' over this just because masterblaster has viewed some and hasn't viewed the rest. Consequently, have you ever considered that MAYBE a few of those entrants are on her favorites list and that she does check her notes. In any case there are a lot of people who barely view anything when theyre the ones hosting the contest AND that sometimes life gets in the way which leads to the possibility of being overly busy.
-
Hi Brazos, when I judge I shall read ALL the poems and my friend do NOT EVER DARE TO SUGGEST I WOULD LET A FAVORITE OF MINE WIN JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE A FAVORITE, you are out of order sir, so stop throwing wobblers I can do without it right now,CLEAR, I have a life besides that of AP so back off.THE BEST POEMS WILL WIN BE THEY FAVORITES OR NOT,I don't often loose my temper but you managed to make me do so, calm down. thank you,Di

Where is your apology? Your accusations are unfounded and you were cruel...
Be a man... admit your wrongs and apologize.

Judging the contest....
"when I judge I shall read ALL the poems"--That is a direct quote from your reply to my rant, but in fact you DID NOT read all the poems, as is shown by reading down the entries list, you know, that little blurb that says, "Not viewed by judge"? Correct me if I am wrong, but you can't have an impartial contest if you don't at least view all the entries. No way I demand to win, or even be recognized, but it is only fair to be read if we take the time to enter your contests! By the way, I have a life also, and AP is only a very small part of it.
I know, I know, a lot of peeps don't bother to read all their entries, but for some reason I thought you were above that...
Have a nice life, Di, you won't have to worry about hearing from me again.

BRAZOS, THIS CONTEST HAS NOT YET BEEN JUDGED AND WILL NOT BE UNTIL SUNDAY AT THE EARLIEST, WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME LIKE THIS,THIS IS SO UNFAIR TO ATTACK ME LIKE A RABID DOG,IT IS AS IF YOU WISH ME TO LEAVE AP, YOU JUST MIGHT GET LUCKY AND FORCE ME TO GO,I DO NOT NEED THIS KIND OF THING IN MY LIFE.
-
-
Di, in my opinion, you shouldn't have to leave AP just because one little BOY is trying to stress you out. Take a deep breath and continue your FABULOUS work

Brazos, I could see why you would rant like this if the contest had already been judged... but it hasn't. It's not even been closed for a full day yet and I see that you already started complaining on the 7th!!!
What's your problem?!?!? The contest holder now, in order to close their contest HAVE to read ALL entries... this contest holder has a RIGHT to read the entries in whatever order she so chooses... leave her alone will ya???
-
oh and another thing... I went to your author page and see where you've never even held a contest... so really your attack on Masterblaster was even MORE out of order for you speak in ignorance as to the contest ways and rules!!!
You owe this woman a sincere apology for you are WAY out of line!!! -
-
Yes ma'am Brazos does.

TO ALL WHO ARE CONCERNED IN THIS CONTEST BY DI!
I made a grievous error, and thought the contest was supposed to end two weeks ago, and I WAS WRONG! Somehow, I got my dates wrong, perhaps, from entering too many of them, but that is no excuse, and I apologize for it. I have already personally apoligized to Di, and she has forgiven me [bless her heart], but now I wish to say I'm sorry to the rest of you, as well. It seems I disrupted this contest by making a bone-headed mistake. It is my bad, and none of ya'lls, please forgive me and let's go on being friends.
And I promise to check the contest info more often from now on...
Thank you all for putting up with me while I was in my little snit, I hate being wrong, but that's the way I am sometimes...
Hugs to all,
Brazos -

Thank you very much... I'm so glad you two are on speaking terms...
Indeed, you truly are a man... a rare breed for sure.
I am sorry for jumping on you as well.

Melissa...
Thank you very much for your forgiveness, and let me repeat, I am sorry for the mess I caused. I have made many mistakes, but this was one of the worst ones, lol!
I love Di very much, and also love her poetry, but sometimes the ones we love the most are the ones we hurt the most, if it had been a contest by someone else, I prob wouldn't even have bothered to enter, or rant if I did enter, lol.
But the bottom line is I was wrong anyway, notwithstanding if Di was running the contest, or someone else was. Wrong can never be right, but it can be made right through clarification of the facts, I at least hope that is what I did...
Bye the bye, I think I may have read some your work before, but don't remember for sure. Would you mind if I read some and commented? You impress me as a real person, and their are so many phonies on AP. It would be nice to talk to a real person [like you and Di] every once in a while.
Thanks for writing,
Brazos
