BLESSINGS AND LOVING THOUGHTS # 4 : ~ EA ~

This is a contest in tribute to poetess ea http://allpoetry.com/ea ,
who has offered us a huge number of the most unique and creative contests
on ap … 121 so far !!! I particularly loved her Victorian parlour games, as well as her last contest “write a wreath” … I wanted to use the gift of points for hosting a “thank-you-contest” for this generous contest-host called ea (or marcy for her friends) …

We will combine here both the poetry-form called “wreath” (really simple)
and the rules of the “Victorian parlour game” … in simple words :
WRITE A WREATH FOR EA

for inspiration :
“write a wreath” http://allpoetry.com/contest/2343292

Rules :

1. Reserve your contest-space
2. Use the LAST WORD of the previous poem as the FIRST WORD of your poem
3. Put this word as your FIRST WORD into your title and choose your LAST WORD adding it to your title as well
4. You may start writing your poem whenever you wish now
5. The poem : in a wreath, each line starts with the last word (or a variation of it) of the previous line (like hope – hopefully, fill – fulfilling etc.)
6. Of course, ea is heartily invited to enter this contest and to play with us !!!
7. The contest will close after the weekend, so please write your poems in the meantime
8. you may play twice, if you wish, but can only win once

Enjoy !

thank you so much, dear miss2you http://allpoetry.com/Miss2u
for your generous gift of 300 points, which will be gratefully used for awarding 10 HMS

heartfelt thanks to sommerregen http://allpoetry.com/sommerregen
for your kind donation of 200 points, which shall increase the jackpot for the main trophies and add 2 HMs

mister williamstown's http://allpoetry.com/williamstown generous donation of 1000 points has been received with gratitude (444 points of it have already been used to increase the jackpot, so now each winner can start his/her own contest ... the remaining 556 points will be divided between the HMs)

unfortunately, 12O points have been lost while posting too many HMs ... of course, I have added now an additional 120 points from my account to the point-pool ! it was my fault, after all ... too much enthousiasm sometimes

concerning the honey-points (hm), I'll send out all the additional 82 bonus-points per poem separately, the 30 official points will be sent to you via the system

final accounts :
received :
393 points ... maa
200 points ... sommerregen
300 points ... miss2you
1000 points .. williamstown
___________
1893 points .. total

offered :
333 points ... gold
333 points ... silver
333 points ... bronze
896 points ... 8 hms x 112 points
___________
1895 points .. total

I hope that my accounts are correct and not too confusing ...

AND HERE’S A SPECIAL GIFT FOR YOU FROM EA :

The poppies from maa are adorning the page
Pages of poppies that Margaret picked
Picked up the bouquet to begin the wreath
Wreath of her making that she did bequeath
Bequeath unto me with her own handiwork
Handiwork left for the next one to hold
Holding the ribbons of goatherd's embold
Emboldening wit of the gal from the desert
Deserting us never came the hoodoolover
Lover of maa, there could be not another –
Jean marc took the string and fastened the joy
Joy that dear myra would add to as coy
Coyly the rhyme wound to azure and boy
Boy! Then the vision was stepped up by Trista
Trista made way for a most welcome visitor
Visit with Broad and her sly Kangaroo
Kangaroo hopped in the wreath – why not you?
You, said dear Micha, are more inspiration
Inspiring us from our differing nations
National pride that Tirrel brings by sleigh
Sleighs that have traversed from here to Norway.
Norway is a long way to go but not far
Far from the land of the northernmost star.

just post this as a title and start penning ...

    Wonderful Contest!

For ea, dear ea with all the inspiration she gives, I thank you, Maa for this contest, a wreath of wreaths of gratitude for Marcy. I want so very much to do this, at least to try and am still a bit confused as to how, and fear how long it takes for me to write, Oh I will try, somehow, just don't know if I have the form down enough and perhaps fear my own slowness, but I will say here, I am so, so very Grateful to her for all the Inspiration and all the encouragement for us to write and I am more appreciative than I can say...
And I thank you, Maa, for this wonderful idea to do this for someone so very special to all of us here who have reaped the benefits of her generosity!!!
(And I thank YOU for yours!)

Oh my, a chance to sing Moxie's praise...I can hear many here screaming, "No, not again!"

It is just a soft drink like Pepsi or Coke, it's main ingredient being gentian root. It has a bitter flavor that you either love or hate...no middle ground, lol.

Invented here in Maine it is the oldest (and first) commercial soft drink in America, sold since 1884. It once was the top soft drink in the US, outselling coke, but truth in advertising laws (it claimed to be a nerve tonic, lol) and high sugar prices took its toll. It is now mainly in New England, mostly here in Maine where it is the official drink of Maine.

        I'm thirsty.

can one have another go at this, seems I was a bit transfixed on trying to do a wreath poem and missed out the tribute bit, although ea was in my mind writing my piece it was more of a humorous offering than as a fitting tribute, from those of you who know her far better than me I am confident she will at least enjoy my previous one but maybe I should have a go a doing a more appropriate wreath, broad
