I re-edited my contest. Why? Because, for some reason the AP text box is going a tad loopy and erasing some of the things that I have said. Sorry for the inconvience.
Do me a favor. Don't just skip over all of this. Thank you.
Living in today's society, we're born under standards. Standards of our friends, peers, family, and of our own. I want you to write a poem about standards. Stumped? Well, here's a few examples:
a. Write a poem about what someone has to have in order for you to fall in love with them. What qualities? Values?
b. Write about the expectations of your parents. What are they? Do you want to reach them? Why?
c. Write about the standards of your country. What does it take to be a citizen, and a good one at that?
d. Write about the standards you want your own children to have.
e. Physical standards, mental standards...
f. Or even take the flip side and say what something should'nt have.
You don't have to use these examples or post them in your author's box. They're just ideas I threw out there.
Rules:
Go ahead. Write about sex, drugs, and rock and roll. I just want to feel it. Enter as much as you want. Make them as long or a sshort as you want. They can rhyme. Whatever you feel is necessary.
Goodluck.
