You will find a list of words posted below. The object of this contest is write a poem that captures the essence of the word you have chosen - be it's literal meaning or metaphorical, I'll leave that up to you. As you will notice, the words I have selected can have various meanings and be used to encompass many emotions and situations. Use your imagination and have fun. I do warn you, this contest COULD close earlier than the posted date... subject to my own personal mood swings.
PERSONAL NOTE: I am partial to vibrant imagery and emotion. I am drawn to poetry that pulls me in and holds me in rapt attention.
PLEASE post the word you have selected in your notes. I am only allowing each word to be used once so if you wish to have a word reserved for you, post the word as a poem title and simply put RESERVED in the content box so I can remove the word from the list. Any form you choose is acceptable and the word does not necessarily have to be used within the poem or title itself, but the poem MUST breathe the essence of the word. If it becomes necessary, I will add to the word list to assure there is something worthwhile to select from.
