The Wearin' of the Green

In honour of my slight Irish heritage, I would like some poems for the day.  This is a quickie contest, and so will end sometime either tonight or tomorrow.

Any genre is acceptable.  Any form, but if unusual, please place it in your author's notes.  It should not be a description of the picture, but rather something about the day.

Dreaded Rules:

Grammar and spelling check a must.

No profanity.  If I see the word *bunny*, it had better refer to a small cuddly animal more connected with Easter.

No sticky caps.

Place your name at the end of the poem.  I have disregarded poems in the past for putting them in the author's notes.  Please put them after the poem.

The font will need to be easily read; no dark font on dark backgrounds. My eyes cannot take it. If I need to remove the background, I may not bother.

Well wishes.

NOTES: I have read all the entries so far. There are only two I can move into the finals; the rest did not follow the directions. If you want to edit your entry, that is fine by me, but you have little time. There are some very fine reads, but for the fact they did not read the rules.

There were some other good entries, but the neglected to post their names. And, one I could not read due to the contrast between font and background.

    Great contest.

Thanx for this contest, and may your roof never fall in and those beneath it never fall out.
