Write a wreath using this 17th century Welsh poem as inspiration. http://oldpoetry.com/opoem/8363-George-Herbert-A-Wreath
You do not have to stick to such a conventional and difficult form as George Herbert employs here. Just use the idea he puts forth to write something wreathlike. See how he starts each new line using something from the line above?
Here is another example from AP poet, MargaretG: http://allpoetry.com/poem/2725002
enjoy.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 20, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 30, Bronze: 30, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: Thanks, I'd love to read more of these so be sure to send me the link if you try a wreath again.
Here is the first wreath I ever wrote (on March 11, 2007) based on Margaret's example above.
Should Hesitation Rule?
A sleepy garden have I planted in the haze
The haze that might be lifting should we dare
Dare to share our sympathies as thirsting
Thirsting for that spark has brought us near
Nearer to our heart, that core of feeling
A feeling that should banish hesitation
Should hesitation rule each other's art

this blizzard is a white out at worst so far... -
I am already trying to write for this challenging contest, ohhh, shall see if I can do it. Great Idea, ea.
oh, off I go to try again with what I've tried to start or, oh we'll see. o:
Anywayyyyyy, either way, Good Luck to all!

wow, a gold trophy
...
what a wonderful surprise !!! thank you !!!
I actually wrote this poem in the middle of an internal conflict due to a difficult situation, and it just poured out of me effortlessly ... and I definitely felt much better afterwards
receiving an award on top of it, is more than I could possibly expect ...
again, thank you so much ...

Thanks, azure; I always love your humorous entries. I think, like me, you get short shrifted a lot for them because people tend to take the serious entries more seriously.
