Via Delarosa
thanatophobia
grips me, ensnares me
my heart cries aloud
from anxieties and fear
as my life beats on
would I take with
what I’ve gained, or
dust to dust, ashes to ashes
beneath the contamination
I hear a voice deep within
like electricity
I am mystified
soteriophobia
attempts to hypnotize
yet faith throws caution to the winds
in reckless abandonment
my heart now cries anew
for a king who was crucified
had taken my sins and phobias
from the cross to the grave
with passion and desire
I remember those words...
Fear not for I have overcome the world
Just put ALL your trust in me,
I stole back the keys of hell and death
from Satan who is now tormenting thee.
Remember Via Delarosa
In an Old Jeruselem,
It was there by my own
to death I was condemned.
Cattail whips with fragments
of metals, glass and bone,
unleashed the fury of their hatred
held for me and me alone.
Blow by blow ripped my flesh
yet I saw only the victory,
light overcoming the darkness
waged the greatest battle in history.
A war not of flesh and blood
but in the realm of spirit,
all my sheep will know my voice
and harken when they hear it.
As I carried that rugged cross
to the top of Calvary's hill,
I saw the lame walk, the dumb talk
giving glory to my father's will.
Gashing holes shed healing blood
as they nailed me to that tree,
deaf ears opened blind eyes see
millions oppressed are now set free.
A crown of thorns thrust deep within
as mockery was their intent,
but I saw only the golden crown
as slowly the cross upward went.
Two theives on either side of me
one looked over tears in eyes,
pleading"Remember me in your kingdom"
"This day you'll join me in paradise"
The very first act of salvation's grace
and yet I'm still alive,
but as I later declared "It is finished"
with a mighty thrust a sword did drive.
They thought they'd won the victory
as water from me spilled,
but at that very given moment
earth in it's entirety darkness filled.
Many eyes to truth were opened
as their world began to quake,
torrential tears from heaven poured
revealed in magnitude their grave mistake.
I then went straight to Satan
crushing his neck with mighty foot,
grabbed the keys of hell and death
leaving him defeated in the pit of soot.
But on that third day I rose again
a stone triumphantly rolled away,
the sun broke through with rays of light
giving dawn to a brand new day.
So be of good cheer and fear not I say
on THIS day you too, can overcome,
all your fears, doubts and phobias
armed by word, spirit and love so awesome

We believe you all have excellent skills so the lasting impact was the quencher and these 4 poems did a great job at that. Thanks again for entering and God bless you as you continue to do His work.
