Pick! It's up to YOU!

This is a picture of a lighter blowing up in my face.

First of welcome and thanks for checking out my contest. This is my first and I am sure you all were dying to know that! Anyways let's get on with the show and get to the point.

Well my friends I like to keep things open, with variety. So I am giving you some general options which you can choose one of or combine more than one if you would like. This will not give you an advantage though.

I will comment on all your poems as best I can. I believe comments and feedback is important and I know it's appreciated!

I don't quite like rules but here are a few I will enforce:
1. No StIcKy CaPs - I see it I will DQ you without even looking at your poem!
2. If you can't spell very well use the spell check please. That also means use proper English! Thanks.
3. Use grammar as best you can.
4. No erotica and the like please.
5. Read the rules! And comply!!

Prewrites ARE allowed. Are they not good as well?

Hint: I like rhymed poems better but I can appreciate a good free verse. I write both. Choose your strongest.

Please put the option number in you author notes. Otherwise I will DQ you. I will warn you first and if you do not comply I will DQ.

This is not a rule but please put some puncuation in your poems. I find that it helps with the flow of the poem and makes it easier to read. Thank you.

Ok, now for the options:

Option 1

Find a picture - maybe consider a famous painting - from anywhere. Write about it, whether descriptively or perhaps about a possible meaning behind it, or a story about it or anything else you can think of.

Option 2

Write a poem based on a short story, perhaps a favourite one of yours.

Option 3

Write a poem that tells a story of anything you want (except anything that doesn't comply with the rules of course).

Option 4

Write an anti-suicidal poem. Tell me why life is worth living and why suicide is NOT an answer.

Option 5

Write a humourous poem about a story of anything, perhaps of a pickle's epic journey from the vine to the sandwich, it's totally up to you.

Option 6

Write a poem with any topic you choose but make the rhyming scheme unusual, not the common aabb or abab, etc. Possible idea: rhyme the middle of the lines as well as the ends.

Option 7

Write me a metaphorical poem on any topic you like. Just please include the real meaning in your author notes.

Option 8

Write a deep poem. Make me feel what you feel.

Option 9

Write an inspirational poem. Make it awe-inspiring!

Option 10

Write about my picture.

That's all the options, I hope they are to your liking.

I reserve the right to DQ anyone for any reason I choose without notice or warning.

Thanks for entering!

Signed,
Redmarkonthewall.

I would like to use option one, but I do not know if you really want a fantasy poem.
The picture I have with it almost exactly matches my poem. I would like to enter it though.
    please reply..

I love it when people get all arsey about spelling and grammar in their cuntest rules and then, in the very comments about correct spelling and grammar, go and make mistakes like not capitalising 'English'.

    Genius. Pure genius.

I love it when people say stuff like this and can't even spell some of the simplest words! Such as grammar and contest! Also who use words that aren't even real words such as 'arsey'. Quite hilarious I must say.

      Genius. Pure genius.

You might like to note that grammar is spelt correctly and that the contest is spelt that way for a reason...

If you're going to try and be a pedant, at least be one who is correct, though little chance of that happening given your earlier slackness and mistakes.
