Friendship requires certain accountability factors. Friends encourage one another and forgive one another where there has been an offense. Friends support you during times of struggle. Friends are dependable. In true friendship, unconditional love develops and we always want the best for them.

Many of you will recognize their names. The kindness they have shown towards me is a gift I treasure. I believe that the greatest gift you could give another is the gift of your time. It’s something that can’t be replaced once it’s spent. Those mentioned above offered me hope when I was hopeless and made me laugh when I cried so hard.
For this contest I want you to write about friends. Don’t TELL me what a friend is. I already know that and have seen examples of it through those I have listed above. This is a contest to simply celebrate friendship. You do not have to write a poem about any specific person or any of those I have listed above and please, DO NOT give me a list of characteristics you perceive another to possess. I’m not grocery shopping here. My very best friend is of course, my husband and if you feel that same sense of oneness with another, that’s the type of thing I want you to write about. Oneness, single-minded thinking, bonding to another as a result of shared likenesses, hopes, dreams, aspirations and experiences. In other words, give this some careful thought and make your words matter.

Kimberly, you are blessed indeed by some of the friends you listed above. I do not know everyone on that list, but the ones that I do know most definitely are the sort of material that "true friends" are made off
