Death to Fairy Tales =]

I'll be blunt here, and state the obvious.

...

Happy Endings Suck.

Anyone agree? I mean, come on, the princess is *always* going to find a prince, and *always* lives happily ever after. Wouldn't it be fun if, for once, the princess died? Or something along those lines. =]

Here's an example. http://allpoetry.com/poem/2577736

~*Rules (Because they had to come eventually)*~
1. No cursing.
2. NO STicKy CaPS
3. plz no cht spk
4. Type "I wish I were a PENGUIN" in your author box.
5. Make sure that the colors are readable.
6. No suicide, or cutting, or...that kind of stuff.
7. No erotica

So, now. What I want you to do. I want you to destroy a fairy tale, but I want you to make it funny. (Sort of like my Rapunzel, Rapunzel). So, therefore...yes. for example, take one of the Disney princess movies (ex: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, etc) and change the storyline.

Last rule now!
HAVE FUN!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on March 6, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 150, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
To those that I didn't comment (which is all but one of you) I'm sooooo sorry. There's been something wrong with my computer, so whenever I tried to comment anything on AP, it would freeze. Just know that I thought all of the poems were great, and I had a hard time choosing the winner.
So congrats to the writer of "Someday my prince will come...I hope" on their gold trophy, and "Snannoying White...etc" on Silver, and "I Have a shoe" on bronze. Congrats to the honorable mentions as well.
Great job, everyone, and thank you all for entering my contest!
PS: As soon as I have enough points again, next contest?
    DEATH TO SOAP OPERAS!
    haha. =]

I agree that happy endings do generally suck BUT not all the time, because although most things in life probably don't have a happy ending, at least some do so...good luck with the contest, I hope you get lots of great entries x

"the princess is *always* going to find a princess"

hmmm that's a bit different than the fairy tales I remember

Good idea for a contest though
