This contest is for anyone who has watched the original Crow movie.
There are now three options.
For the first I want you to be inspired by a picture of Eric Draven (Brandon Lee).
For the second option I want you to be inspired by the lyrics for "It Can't Rain All The Time" from The Crow soundtrack.
Or I want this quote from the movie to inspire you.
To make myself clear I do not want you to write a version of the story in poetry form.
I want you to look deep into the picture or (and) lyrics and pull meaning from them.
The are no rules except that I want you to use proper spelling and grammar.
But if I deem your poem inappropriate for the contest, I will remove it.
This is in memory of Brandon Lee. 1965-1993
Also, this is for Eliza, may she find comfort in the darkest times.
Option one:

Option two:
We walked the narrow path,
beneath the smoking skies.
Sometimes you can barely tell the difference
between darkness and light.
Do you have faith
in what we believe?
The truest test is when we cannot,
when we cannot see.
I hear pounding feet in the,
in the streets below, and the,
and the women crying and the,
and the children know that there,
that there's something wrong,
and it's hard to believe that love will prevail.
Oh it won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall forever.
Oh, when I'm lonely,
I lie awake at night
and I wish you were here.
I miss you.
Can you tell me
is there something more to believe in?
Or is this all there is?
In the pounding feet, in the,
In the streets below, and the,
And the window breaks and,
And a woman falls, there's,
There's something wrong, it's,
It's so hard to believe that love will prevail.
Oh it won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall
forever.
Last night I had a dream.
You came into my room,
you took me into your arms.
Whispering and kissing me,
and telling me to still believe.
But then the emptiness of a burning sea against which we see
our darkest of sadness.
Until I felt safe and warm.
I fell asleep in your arms.
When I awoke I cried again for you were gone.
Oh, can you hear me?
It won't rain all the time.
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall forever.
It won't rain all the time
The sky won't fall forever.
And though the night seems long,
your tears won't fall, your tears won't fall,
your tears won't fall
forever.
New; Option three:
Victims, aren't we all?
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 13, 2007
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: I would like to thank everyone who took time to enter. This contest was very important to me, as it was in memory of Brandon Lee. I found so many entries that I thought deserved prizes that I added HMs to this contest. The HMs are in no particular order. I chose Gold, Silver, and Bronze not only for their poetic talent, but because of how much those poems spoke to me. May Brandon Lee rest in peace, and may Eliza find comfort in the darkest times.

I entered your contest with my poem called The Crow. As I am a huge fan of the original movie. Although I have a different pic with my poem it was inspired by the pic you have with your contest, as I have that very same poster in my room and used that and the soundtrack as an inspiration when I originally wrote this. I hope that it is acceptable.

We named my son Draven, I was 7 and a half months pregnant with him when the movie came out. Have you read the original graphic novel? It is amazing how the characters in the graphic novel actually ended up looking like the actors that played them in the movie or vice versa. Great idea for a contest. You should have some really great reading ahead.
