Welcome to Round One of the Chibi Challenge Series! If you enter, you will become a contestant for the Chibi Crown! All winners earn a spot on my page, too. This is a new series, so you will be the first name on the list if you win!!!
*UPDATE*- lol due to my overeagerness to keep this contest on the go and not let it stagnate and also because this contest is not "famous" yet (lol) I am ending it sooner than I thought. Only three more days, and then it closes as of February 10th.
*UPDATE 2*- OK, I realized that this is a first time around and thus small. So I have changed the number of contests there are going to be. Instead of what you will read below, there will only be three contests, and I will decide how many to eliminate per round; and will post it on the contest page. Thanx for your patience!!
OK, here's how the game works. There are going to be five contests, each one harder than before. I will eliminate people each round. Here's how it goes:
Round One: Fifteen players will advance from who knows how many!! (If your name makes it to the finals when I end the contest, you are moving on. I will also post a list of poets moving on.)
Round Two: Twelve will get here!
Round Three: Nine...
Round Four: Six...
Round Five: Three
You get the picture! So step up to win THE CHIBI CROWN!! Oh, yeah, and a caboodle of points .
Here's your task in this first level.
Pre-writes are allowed, BUT THEY M-U-S-T BE RELEVANT TO THE TOPIC. If I find an irrelevant one *kachunk as it hits bottom of trash can*
Here are your topics:
1) Poems in Latin WITH TRANSLATIONS, please.
2) A movie or play scene that will make me laugh, cry, or applaud like no one has before.
3) An epic poem/ ballad that tells a romantic story (no erotica, preferably set in Middle Ages)
4) Poodles and Airedales (if you don’t know either of these breeds, shame on you!
5) A poem with an excellent rhyme scheme that reflects the subject matter (I have just read the poem ‘The Old Oaken Bucket’- very touching, click here to read:
http://oldpoetry.com/opoem/37267-Samuel-Woodworth-The-Old-Oaken-Bucket
Rules: like ‘em or not, they keep you where I want you.
1. Keep it G, PG at the most, please. Poetry can be a medium for all sorts of, well, perverted things, and my eyes don’t really want to see that.
2. Put your name in the author’s notes. You can’t advance if I don’t know who you are!!!!
3. I limit you to one poem apiece, so choose carefully. I will only remove poems that are completely irrelevant to the chosen topics.
Enter and have fun! The competition for the Chibi Crown has begun!
P.S.- If you're wondering where the image came from, I drew it myself and scanned it. Turned out pretty nice. It's a picture of one of the characters from my story, and it's also my face. Anyhoo...

i want to enter! sounds cool!

I'm not sure what you mean by option five. You want the rhyme scheme and the subject matter to be related somehow?
-
-
I apologize. You're right, it is kind of random. If you haven't read the link, I would od so. It's a fabulous poem by Samuel Wordsworth that illustrates my point. I guess that option just means: give me your best rhyming poem. That's all.

Cool contest!

I will try to come up with another latin poem!
Good luck to everyone!
