Sound of silence
Often the most powerful moments and emotions occur in silence. From that tender moment of understanding between 2 lovers, to the silent treatment that stings so much in a friendship. From the silence of those afraid to speak up against hate, to the calm meditations of a monk seeking inner peace. Or it could be about the nocturnal stillness of night… Or the silence of a truth being held back because it’s too uncomfortable to tell, or that peaceful moment of solitude at the end of the day…etcetera.
Write me a poem about any kind of silence and the emotion behind it and what it means to you. Be creative. There are tons of possibilities covered within this topic. Let your imagination run wild and see what comes up.
Rules:
1) can be in any form (or free form)
2) Can be any length
3) Please spell check
4) Be creative (I love beautiful imagery and symbolism so that's always a plus)
5) Must be on the theme of silence
6) Please read each other’s works, be kind when commenting
7) No flaming

Good topic for a contest
I'll be back to submit some silence. For some spiritually great silent poems check out two ladies from France, maa and suryame. Both of them write from the Silence of the spiritual heart.

Wow!
This is an awesome idea for a contest!!!!I loved all the poems I have read so far, and entered one of course! Good luck in the judging. -
Thank you for all your entries so far. It's inspiring and really means a lot to me. I've been currently going crazy because I haven't had any privacy or silence this week and I can never seem to find any!
All the poems I've read so far have swept me into a world of silence which I so crave right now.
I will comment on every entry too. Just waiting for my life to calm down a little. -
Thanks!
Congrats to all the winners. This was one of the best themes for a contest I have come across.
Thanks, M-R!
I look forward to reading the winning entries if I haven't already.

Oh thank you for the silver. It was a joy to enter. I knew that this sensual piece was enveloped in a loving silence...I am honored that you recognized it!
