I have only one rule: PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE PROMPT (THE ENTIRE THING) INYOUR AUTHORS COMMENTS SO I CAN KNOW WHICH ONE WAS YOUR CHOICE. IF YOU DONT, YOUR POEM WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
You can write something, happy, sad or anywhere in between. Just be true to yourself
UPDATE: Please do not use options 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 14, 16, or 17. All the other options are still open
1) WRITE YOUR OBITUARY or EULOGY- I'd like you to be creative, use your imagination. How would you like to be remembered? Make it personal. What would the person giving the speech at your funeral say?
2) WRITE ABOUT LIVING AS A TEENAGER IN YOUR COUNTRY - you dont have to be a teenager, tell me about the struggles teenagers have to go through, tell me about a specific trouble or struggle or about the hardships that teenagers face in todays day and age.
3) INTRODUCE YOUR MOTHER - describe her best qualities. Why is she important to you. What has she done specifically that has helped you become who you are today. Why do you appriciate her? Please make sure to tell me her name, including first and middle, last name is optional (this can be in your authors comments)
OR tell me about your mother. If she was terrible, tell me about it. Tell me why, what she did, how it changed you as a person.
4) DESCRIBE THE GREATEST HURDLE YOU HAD TO OVERCOME -Tell me how it affected you and how it changed your life. Tell me what you learned, and how it has helped you help others through similar situations.
5) DESCRIBE A MAJOR TURNING POINT IN YOUR LIFE
6) DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST DATE AND/OR KISS - Tell me how you felt when you were getting ready, what you wore, describe the night, where you went, etc.
7) DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST LOVE - What about them made you fall in love. What things did they do to make you a better person. Why is this person significant to you?
8) WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR IN LIFE? - Tell me why you have this fear, what you have done to overcome it, how it has impacted your day to day life. Do you ever think you will get over this fear? If not, why. If so, how?
9) WHO WERE YOU NAMED AFTER & WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THAT PERSON?
10) WHO ARE YOUR GODPARTENTS? - why were they chosen to care for you, why are they significant in your life. Are they relitives, friends of your parents, etc.
11) Take a poem that you like, take the last line and make that the first line of your poem.
12) Write about the place you go when you are stressed. Describe this place and why it brings you peace.
13) Write about a chance you didnt take that you wish you had. Tell me what you think the outcome could have been and what changes it could have made to your life.
14) Write a letter to yourself 10 years ago. Tell yourself about your life now, the things you have experienced along the way. Things you would have wanted yourself to know as a child that might have made your life easier, tell your child self things that will make you a better person. Make it deep. THIS NEEDS TO BE AN ACTUAL LETTER, NOT A POEM. Here is an example: http://allpoetry.com/poem/1453197
15) Write about a mother/father looking for their son/daughter. That child, had been on a plane that crashed earlier that day.
16) Write from the point of view of the last tree standing in the forest.
17) "If you dont risk anything, you risk more" - write about what this means.
18) "Going to church doesnt make you a Christian anymore than standing in a garage makes you car" - write about what this means. No religion bashing. Please remember to be respectful.

I would like to enter this, and number 3, but I don't have good memories of my mother. Do you wish happy poems for this one, or may I just write what I feel? Thank you. Patricia

Patty,
You can write whatever your heart feels. I will not limit you to anything more than the topic. I will accept what you write as long as you are being true to yourself. I would love to see your entry
