Make My Heart Melt

Hi! Welcome to my contest! I am gonna make this description as short and painless as possible because personally, long ones bug me..
In this contest, you can really enter absolutely whatever you want. However, here are a couple of hints that will increase your chance of winning:

1. I strongly dislike dark, cutting, suicide, death, blood, ect... types of poems. I am not saying you will for sure lose if you enter one like this, but I am a happy kind of person and I generally like happy kinds of poetry.
2. I happen to adore romantic poems. Like the title suggests, the poems most likely to win will be the ones that can make my heart melt. =)
3. You don't have to rhyme, but I will say that Flow is essential to a winning poem.

I originally had decided to allow prewrites since i understand that it is hard to pull real inspiration from a dorky contest description, but i have had so many entries that i really need to change this to only New poems. A new poem will win more points with me anyways since it will be fresh and spontaneus. And it will prove your talent if you are able to write me an inspired poem from my descripion! I have also had to change this and allow you to only enter once because i have been getting many more entries than i expected!! So make your one entry count!!

Now, sadly, the Rules:
1. No bashing God whatsoever.
2. Minimal or no swearing.
3. No bedroom stuff (you know what i mean...).
4. Just have fun!! Poetry rocks!!

a little update here: just because i have a preliminary finalists list does not mean i am not accepting more entries!! i have been asked about this, so i will tell you that the list is only for me to keep my favorite entries in one place, since there are so many entries! it is by no means final, as poems will still be added or subtracted from it until i have pronounced the winners. i am still gladly accepting any and all further entries!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on January 13, 2007
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 30, Bronze: 15
  • Final notes:
Hi!! First, i want to thank all of you so much for entering! This was my first contest and it went wonderfully thanks to you poets!! Now, i know that like, every contest judge says this, but seriously, every entry was exceptional! I am continuously wowed at the amount of talent floating around here on cyberspace!! And i really mean that! So all of you give yourselves a pat on the back!!
Ok, here are the winners! And i recommend you read these poems, because they were truly amazing!
    GOLD: His Dream or Hers
    SILVER: A Thousand Stars
    BRONZE: Monster Outside My Window
    HM: My Ardor
    HM: Dancing
I am sorry to the two HM's, i wanted to give you guys trophies and points, but the stupid thing wouldn't let me change it, since originally i wasn't going to give HM's. But this contest was so unbelievably hard to judge that i decided i needed to..
So thanks for a great contest! I do hope you will all enter the many other contests i plan on having!! Have a great day!!
    =D
