For this contest I want to pose a real challenge, something that will make the entrants work, I want you to really earn these trophies/points.
I saw absolutely no form poetry advertised in contests or while browsing...and so that is what I'm going to ask for here.
Pretty straightforward contest. I will list the types of form poetry I will accept. You may enter ONE prewrite and/or ONE fresh piece.
This can be any subject but I'll give you some hints. I hate whining and cutting and if you submit something that is supposed to be funny...it had better floor me, I have a strange sense of humor.
I will read and comment on each and every entry in the contest and then the points/trophies will be awarded as follows:
1st - ONE gold trophy and 300pts.
2nd - ONE silver trophy and 100pts.
3rd - ONE bronze trophy and 50pts.
Any honorable mentions will recieve applause.
Listed below are the forms I will accept(If it is a specific type of one of the following...for example an italiansonnet... please let me know which one, in your authors comments or an IM)
--Sonnet
--Villanelle
--Ghazal
--Blank Verse
--Sestina
--Aubade
--Epitaph
I reserve the right to disqualify any poetry that I feel does not fit in the contest and to extend and, as a last resort, cancel the contest if I recieve too few entries or the ones entered do not meet my standards.
