A wise person recently told me to be careful not to get both feet wet too soon in a new relationship that I am in. I know she is looking out for my best interest as she tells me this because she knows that when I love, I do it whole-heartedly and often get hurt easily.
If you cannot already tell, I am in a new relationship. He recently moved in with me and things are so far progressing nicely. I am already getting that "new love" feeling and what I want from you is a really good poem about:
1) The feelings you experience when you are first falling in love. (Please limit the amount of cliched words here).
2) The trials of falling in love and how it progresses from "new love" to "real love".
3) Tell me about why I should or shouldn't let myself fall head over heels and jump in with both feet so to speak.
4) Tell me... are you in a similar situation. How has this affected your life and do you have any advice for me?
These options are just to get you jump started as I am not allowing prewrites. As this relationship is fresh and new so must be your poem.
Just a hint to you all, I am particularly fond of poetry that rhymes and of course, touches the soul.
Write from your heart and I am sure you will do fine in this contest.
Rules:
There are not many as I will accept any form of poem as long as it can be read. However, I must ask that you all comment on at least one other poem in this contest or one of mine. Comments are always helpful and I as well as many others often appreciate even the smallest of comments.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will get back to you most likely within 24 hours.
Fill up your inkwell and get the quill ready... I'll be waiting.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 28, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 350, Silver: 100, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: I hope I did this correctly as this was my first contest since the site changed. I had so many very beautiful, heartwarming writes and I loved each one of them. Unfortunately, I had to pick winners and I think I did the best ones justice. Even if you did not win a trophy or points, I still really enjoyed reading all of the great works that were sent my way in this contest. Thank you for entering and I wish you all happy holidays.

So pleased for you
I just wanted to drop you a little emssage and say that I am pleased for you. I met John in October 2005, started dating him on 30th November and moved in with him on 7th December so you could say I jumped in with two feet up to the knees. Some would say I was foolish, that I should have waited til I was sure and at times I thought the same but as we near our 1st anniversary I have only one 2 pieces of advice for you. 1) Go with your heart, if it feels right then go for it. 2) Never be afraid to tell him how you are feeling. For the first few months I was scared to tell John anything, he knew I had been hurt but I did not want to talk about it until finally I took the plunge and told him everything. It was the best thing I ever did. I wish you all the best for the future and good luck with the contest. -

I was told once from one wise ol' owl that only you know when things are right in your life. You are the only one who knows if you're ready for love and to be loved. Once you are open and you've made sure that the other person is open, soulful love should come naturally. But, that wise ol' owl flew the coop and now I'm left protecting the nest. Oxy moron??? Maybe???
