Choices:
1) You can provide, A-Z, things to be grateful for. Have depth in each letter. For example, if you say F-Flowers, say something poetic about flowers and why or how it should make someone (namely, me) grateful. Make a poetic statement about the flower/s.
or-
2) You can also write a poet about gratitude, but it must move my heart. The real measure is poetic beauty.
3) any poem that makes me truly grateful for life and living, beauty, love, etc.
I'm not a shallow person, so please don't make me dive in a shallow pool and bust my head open. OK? Thanks.

- Contest was judged on December 2, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 450
- Final notes: I have to hope for hope at this point in my life, so "A Mother's Hand" manages to touch both grief and hope. I have one of the two completly understood. Thanks to everyone. The wisdom lines helped me the most.

Thankfulness
Throughout the last life, the one full of faith and honour, I knew the value of an angel. And what it meant to consider God on multiple levels of appreciation. I hope to bring that to the table of this contest, thanks for hosting it. I must gain and miss to gather the meaning of a cold room versus the radiating universe.
Hope you recieve many thought out entries. God with you. -
I will try to write something for this, most likely the A-Z one. I'll enter later though, I don't have enough time right now.
Sounds like a cool contest.

Thanks, Meli. You know (I think) how much I shy away from contests (I rarely read contest poems and even less oftem enter one...and even less than that, host one). :-) But there seems to be a need in my life and in the life of someone whose heart I carry in my heart, to count gratitudes, perhaps. She is talking about going back to God, as she thinks she will never get sober. Well if nothing else, prayer is in order. Maybe I'll host a prayer contest? Does that sound crazy? LOL!
Love ya, sister~Timo -
Im not putting a promise that I might enter or not but will try. By the way....its spelled, Gratitudes
-
Wow! Thanks for the spelling SNAFU! LOL!

timothy,
I agree that the power of prayer always seems to take a great deal of the weight off of these tight situations
I always hold you in my prayers... and of course my daily thoughts... but today I will remember the difficult times you and your deep concerns in my heart. I hope it is some relief to know your friends... like myself are here to help you carry the burden... the pain and to wipe your tears... is this not what friends are here for?? Hold your head high... and keep her hand held tightly in yours.. for all will be better... and seem like such a mole hill, even though now it seems like a mighty mountain. I adore your strength and look up to your faith~~~
