What a fabulous group of poets to choose from... I've written tributes to 3 of them, over the time I've been here, however none of those remain on the site..
I hope this gets some wonderful entries.. and it's nice to see an Old Poetry contest.... the last one I recall was some time back..

These are some heavyweights in the world of poets, to be sure. And some of my personal favorites. Wow. I think I wrote an essay on Plath that I could dig up and rework a little. We'll see.

I love sylvia plath and ezra pound, but not the other two. also i'm thinking if i participate in the contest i have to reread their works that has been forgotten by my memory long ago...

This could alarm me! My own birthday is in October, I hope I am some sort of poet (6 books - total abt. 700 pages - non-vanity published, represented in 40 anthologies) and as far as I am concerned this lot were all barking mad! If I believed in Astrology I would be worried!

Maybe in time to come we will be doing a spotlight on you!
One thing though. . . . I hope it is not for a long time as one of the criteria for oldpoetry is a distinct lack of breath!
Anyway if you think this lot is barking why not come on board at Oldpoetry to give us a hand. Unpaid work but set your own hours. I enjoy it.

May you have many many more November 12th Birthdays. However the penalty is you won't be able to get into a column here since all our selections have stopped breathing and we wouldn't want that to happen to one of our readers.
