Snapshots! a contest for words and pictures
We want to see what you can do with that old shoe box
full of photos.
Select one or more snapshots and click us a poem from it.
Only one poem
and a short one, 20 lines or less.
Free verse preferred but intelligent rhyme will never be ignored.
We can't arrest you if you don't, but please use your own photos.
Here's a link to one of mine in case you need an example

500 points for the Golden Sunset Award
300 points for the Silver Lining Award
200 points for the Bronze Age Award
Have fun and remember, we don't mind at all being shocked by your pictures.
(within the Established Laws of Decency of course.)
No nudity dammit (well, maybe a little)...thumb, ankle, nose...stuff like that.
UPDATE!...
Several people have asked how to post an image if they are not gold or silver...well, ya can't.
but if you'll use a free image hosting service like photobucket.com, then you can link to the image.
That will do.
We've had good entries already in this contest and I'm going to keep to the policy of not commenting until all entries are in.

I think because of the images selected and the content of the poem presented it is clear we prefer nostalgic photos.

The ability to navigate the pages of AP has slowed to near impossibility. It took 21/2 minutes to load this edit page. Mary and I will continue to review

Of course I forgot...nekkidness is encouraged by the judges but not by the administration.
Jugs those are my sisters, flopsy, mopsy and cottontail. -
If you like I can write you a poem to a picture of me in my bare chest.....after all they dont make a bra to fit me......and I dont think a training bra would be all that inspiring either.....
lol.....just dont ask to see a picture of me sporting a bikini speedo or thong......it would most certainly brand me a lunatic for sure.....

This leaves me out because for starters I dont have that many personal photos of myself. And secondly, its VERY rare that I do take photos much less sit down and have them done. lol Best of luck to everyone

Thanks very much to David and Mary- I am dead chuffed, not just because you chose my poem, but because you kick started me to write anything at all. There were some terrific entries here, so congrats to everyone who braved the dreaded staring at the hourglass and gave us all some good reading. Reminded me of the old dial up days . Gina and AJ - congrats, you know I loved both of your poems, and they were much better than mine. I guess they tossed a coin. Hey, and we got to see a hairy AJ.
