Give me a poem about my favorite artist, my hero, Johnny Cash. You can write about any aspect of his life (love for June, drug problems, redemption and faith in God, losing his brother, etc.), pretty much the only rules are DON'T do this if you hate the guy...I want good poetry from people who actually either are fans or have some sort of interest...to put it simply, nothing "mean". Ok? Other than that, let your imagination run wild and I really look forward to reading this. This is my first contest, and I know it's kind of specific but...I'm still hoping for plenty of interest.
Have some fun. ^^

This is an awsome contest. I absolutely love Johnny Cash's stuff. Weird thing about this though, is I just watched Walk the Line last night, now was that a movie or what. It was excellent. I will have to think about this contest, I'm not sure what to write at the moment, but I'll think of something. Hope you get many entries in your contest, for he was a really brillian artist. God Bless!

Walk the Line is amazing. It has to be just about my favorite movie(other than lord of the rings...)just because they did such a wonderful job, in particularJoaquin Pheonix was perfect as Johnny. Thank you, I'm so glad to hear from another Cash fan, and I'm glad you like the contest idea. I hope you can come up with something, and if not I hope you enjoy whatever entries I get, I know I'm looking forward to reading them.

I enjoy his music when I hear it play, but do not feel as if I could contribute much as I do not feel a connection to it. This was a great Idea though and I will forward this contest to a few people I know that might just enjoy this! ~Tia

I was never really that keen on Johnny Cash's music until quite recently I came across a double album of mainly studio out takes of his most recent work and I was most impressed The song "Hurt" is so moving I cant play it .......

great idea. but im not that big on cash. i mean, i like his songs and lyrics well enough, but just not that into him. in any case, it is still a good idea! hope you get some great entries!

I am always affected by Hurt as well...I understand. Being a huge fan of his, I can only listen to it sometimes without crying...depends on my mood. Thank you so much for your comment.

Thank you for my Gold Trophy. You are a fine judge of excellent poetry! I have "Hurt" bookmarked. Tons of people have never seen it; whoever comes to my house has to see it. They are always amazed...
