Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 15, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 350
- Final notes: Merry meet,
First off let me say how gratified I am at the number of suberb and beginning poets that honored me with their work. I have been truly bless, touched and bewildered with your offerings. None of you made this easy on me (thank you for that). After sitting here and muttering to myself, pouring over the notes I made, agonizing over the decisions (my husband knowing the last few cookies in my box had crumbled) drinking several pots of coffee, I finally came up with a decision. I really hate that all (or most) contest holders whine about how hard the decisions were, well I now have cheese to go with my whine. The number of entries were such that I had ties for first, second and third. I decided, again after much dithering and withering looks from my long suffering spouse, that I would go ahead and award two sets of trophy's. I will open another contest that will allow the other trophy winners to pick their respective trophys. So now without further ado:
1st. place-Gold My Chosen Path by Unca Goat
1st. place-Gold Birghid's Sweet Song by Lady Stone
2nd. Place-Silver Fabric of the Universe by DK akaLunatic Serene
2nd. Place-Silver I Think I Knew Your Soul Before by Mythress
3rd. Place-Bronze Witch's Words by B Chandler
3rd. Place-Bronze My Family of Divinity by Lady Stone
Honorable Mentions- 20 pts each
Lady of the Moon by Timeless Wisdom
Valholl by bandaged
I thank you all for the time you took to enter my contest and for gracing me with your words of prose and inspiration. Thank you to all of you who took the time to read and comment on each other's work, I did notice (it did not factor in to my decisions) Each and every one of you also deserve an applause. I will be slowly getting all them to you. I only get 4 a day so it will take me a couple of days to get to all of you.
Thank you all again.

A most interesting and welcome contest. Will have to consult with the Ogdoad and Ennead to see if they will allow my participation. Looking forward to some fantastic reading at the very least! -

You do not necessarily need a deep or deeper connection with the Goddess/God. Write what you have and from the heart and it will always be blessed.

Just to let you know:
rule eleven is null & void b/c the mods made sure that whenever ppl hosts contests that rule is in a way breaking policy -
Merry meet,
I do believe that I stated that I COULD NOT enforce it and that I WOULD NOT just that it would be nice if everyone would. I have never had a moderator tell me that I was breaking a rule by posting it in this manner, since it was more in the line of a suggestion. Thank you for your entry and for following the rules, as they are. You are free to enter one pre-write if you so wish.
Amythest -

Thank you my Merry Met Amythest for running a well run contest and may the blessings of all the gods and goddesses of every known place and clime be yours.
-
Merry meet Amythest,
Thank you for a most wonderful contest to allow us to bring out why our paths are what they are. And thank you again for the honor to myself and my Gods and Goddesses for the Gold Trophy.
My congratulations to all the entries for giving honor to their Gods and Goddesses in this contest. -
Merry meet Unca Goat,
you are more than welcome. Your poem just blew me away. I am sure that when you stand before Maat and they weigh your soul and you make you denials, that it will be lighter than a feather and you will pass into paradise.
Amythest
-
Merry meet Mythtress,
thankl you for your compliments. I tried to run a fair contest, being in enough bad ones myself, I had some good examples of how not to run one.
Amythest -
Merry meet Amythest,
Thanks for your kind words! An interesting point, though, is that the heart should balance with Ma'at to be found worthy. Too light and you led an incomplete life, too heavy and it was an evil life.
