THE OBJECTIVE:
This contest is about mental illnesses. I think that I'll accept any type of poem relating to mental illness. It could be you suffering, or someone you know. Maybe it's just what you THINK it's like.
Want Brownie Points?
This contest is also about alliteration. An example of alliteration is:
Wicked Witch of the West
Holy Hell
Crazy Kris counts the clock's seconds
If you still don't know what alliteration is, look it up or just write a different piece.
When using alliteration, do NOT make it cheesy, and do not force it. It doesn't have to be half of the words on a line, maybe just two or three. I also do not want to poem overpowered with it, I want it to be subtle and nice. If you can rhyme and use alliteration, brownie points for you.
UPDATE
Due to the SERIOUS lack of entries, I will be changing two things. You may enter prewrites, and you may leave out alliteration.
But be warned, poems WITH alliteration have MUCH higher changes of winning!
Rules:
-Use spell check, also, reread your poem when it's posted. Mistakes in grammar and spelling will hurt your chances of winning. I will point them out if I spot them, and if you choose to change them, redeem yourself a bit and let me know.
-I'd prefer not to get 20 poems on ADHD and Depression. If you want to write about one of those, skim through the entries that have been posted before, if you see more than two or three, please don't enter.
-As I said before, if you can rhyme while using alliteration, it will better your chances of winning.
-Be unique! Poems approached with original angles will have a much better chance at the gold.
-I reserve the right o remove your poem if I find it has zero chance of winning.
-I also reserve the right to add more rules as I see fit.
-You you do not state what illness you are writing about in the title of poem, please put it in your authors comments.
-I do not want anything suicidal. If it's something where said person WAS suicidal, that's alright. if I have a problem with it, I'll let you know and give you time to change it before I take it out of the contest.
SPECIAL Thanks To:
Spasmine, who gave me a total of 225 points for this contest.
HyperxCrazyxNxProud, who gave me a total of 215 points.
Thank you to both of you, you made it possible for me to hold this contest sooner rather than later.
Prizes:
First - 500 Points
Second - 100 Points
Third - 50 Points
Prizes will go up as I comment on poems, receive applauds, and if anyone else donates points.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 11, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 500
- Final notes: I got al lot of entries that didn't fit what I was looking for, but I knew that I would once I allowed in prewrites. Yet I'm glad I did, because I did get some really cool poems. Thank you to most of the people who entered.

Nice, Veronica. I might enter, I might not. Probably not. I suck at writing anymore. I hope you get what you are looking for anyhow. Nice background and color set up. I like it too.
Best of luck to you and those entering.

hi.
If you don't mind me asking, when is this contest going to be judged? -
It's being judged now, I've been getting a ton of homework lately, but I've been reading atleast two entries a day (usually 3 or 4), and I have over half of them read, so any day now, the awards will be given out.
-
you haven't mentioned the winners

Thank you for hosting an amazing contest, RestfulDawn. There were many gifted Poets on this page, all worthy of accolades. Congratulations to those that placed, as well as to those who entered. Be well, Poets.
