Hello everybody (That's what our English teacher would have said...^^)!
LittleAnn ( allpoetry.com/poets/LittleAnn ) and me, reinhardt-napoleon, are co-hosting this Pay It Forward Contest. I'm sure you have heard of this concept before which was introduced to AP by poetess little-hug ( allpoetry.com/poets/little-hug ). The idea has spread and we are hosting this contest because we have been awarded trophies in maa's Pay It Forward contests.
www.payitforwardfoundation.org/home.html On this site, the whole Pay It Forward concept is explained in detail... But of course you may IM us with any questions.
We would like you to enter one poem, the themes are (as you can read
) Hope, Love, and Children's poetry.
You can write anything, lyrics, haikus, acrostics...
We hope that the winners of our contest will "pay it forward"!
Annie: "We reserve the right to close this contest at any time if we think we have enough entries!"
That's why we would like to give 300 points to second and third place as well... all donations welcome
RULES:
1) Only one entry per poet
2) Prewrites are allowed
3) You may write in sTiCkY cApS but it won't improve your chances of winning
4) No cutting, suicide or anything like that
5) Don't be mean to anyone in the contest!
Additions by Annie:
6) Please no chat lingo, it takes a lot away from the beauty of poetry!
7) Spellcheck is your friend.
8) Please make the font/background combination readable!
9) I'm soo terribly sorry that we forgot about that... please NO ADULT poetry, we both cannot read it!
Also, I don't think it fits this contest!
10) And of course no swearing... Doesn't fit the idea of this contest too well...
Now - what are you waiting for?! Enter this contest - and enjoy!
Greetings,
LittleAnn (Annie) & reinhardt-napoleon (Joey)
Annie:
UPDATE
Again, I have to apologize... My printer doesn't work and I need to give all the poems I hadn't printed before in handwriting and it takes me long to do because
1.) I need to write clearly and without any mistake
2.) I have a lot of things to do, you know school and stuff...
We are doing huge projects and get tons of homework... It's 6.20 in the morning now and I still haven't finished them
* * *
I'm sorry it is taking us so long to judge... It is hard to decide who gets which prize... By the way, donations are still welcome, they will increase the chance of a second set of trophies being given out...
* * *
I have almost finished printing all the poems your entered. I always give those I have printed copied to Joey at school... she will be telling me what she thinks and I will type her comments on AP (well... I think we will do it that way...)

Hey Anne, it`s so nice that you make your first contest.I have read some poems and I think it will be hard work to judge it.There are good poems

hi
This is a lovely contest ! Thank you so much for paying it forward. You don't know how much it means to me to see people carrying on the concept on pay it forward in these contests here on AP. It's those little things which mean a lot to me and others too I'm sure. I think the contest details are pretty clear as to what you want but if you start getting entries that have nothing to do with paying it forward (which has happened in my contests) then you might want to add a bit in saying exactly what you want. Sometimes people need a little extra hint
lots of luck with this contest and the judging !! I hope you get lots of brill heartfelt entries

Thanks for your comment, Ellie!
What did you do when you got entries that didn't fit? I don't really know...
We didn't make the rules clear enough... We forgot to put in that we want no adult things...
And I'm going to have another one soon... In this one, I'm just helping reini-napi a bit with reading/judging... but these are the points she earned

By entries that don't fit I mean poems about the weather or sad poems or poems which generally won't make people smile. When I let pre-writes in my last contest I got all sorts of poems that had nothing to do with the topic....
I'm happy to heat your going to host your own contest soon..lots of luck with that
