I do not want any erotic poetry, and I do not think profanity belongs in this subject, unless it's neccessary to get a point through. Please use normal language, not "geek-talk", and please use spell-check! I will allow prewrites, but new writes will give more points...
First place gives 400 points, and a shining gold trophy to put on your page. Second place gived 200 points, and a silver trophy, and third place gives 100 points, and a bronze trophy. I will give up to five Honorable Mentions worth 10 points each. Sorry, I don't have more points to give out at the moment...
This contest is now closed, and I will try to judge it at latest by monday, September 4th.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 8, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 400
- Final notes: This contest was extremely difficult to judge, and it was close to a tie between 1st and 2nd place, and it was no easier to figure out who should get 3rd place either. There were so many good poems. I have decided to increase the Honorable Mention to 25 points, as I have a few more points now than when I started the contest...
Here are the winners, and the Honorable Mentions...
1st: Ode To My Muses by The Risen Sun
2nd: The Nine Muses by wakingdevil
3rd: Muse Polyhymnia (Triplet) by intanglio2ring
HM: The Muses by Mythtress
HM: Erato´s Power by La Belle Rouge
HM: Forgiven by Errant Panther
HM: The Eloquent Calliope by DolphinLass
HM: Woes of a Temperamental Muse by Perhaps

That's so funny... I have a cafepress.com store called AMuseMe. LOL I have some poems that will fit this, but I'm trying to write something new before I submit one of my old ones. I look forward to reading some of these. Good luck with your contest. Patti
-
You have a store called AMuseMe?
That's so cool! I was merely playing on words here. You are welcome to write something new, and ofcourse I would prefer that, but please send in some of your older muse poems before the time runs out. Thanks for commenting, I look forward to reading your poems.

That is how I came up with the name for my store. -Great minds think alike.- LOL I have several items in my shop that are poetry related. I did try to enter one of my old poems, but alas something is amiss. The system kept taking me to the wrong page. Perhaps a glitch in the system? I'll try agian later and maybe I'll have better luck. Hi, alicia! Hope you can manage to write something, or find a suitable prewrite in time, it's now 14 hours less, and maybe less if you get this message late. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

Thanks for hosting this contest and for letting us recycle our poems. Nice to be able to brush off the dust and let others read them again.
-
Well, I thought I would get only a handful new poems if I didn't let you enter your prewrites, so I added a rule saying new poems give more points, thereby urging the muses to work, especially after reading other poems. Seems it worked to some extent.
Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

-
Thanks for the congrats to the winners, that is very nice of you.
Jim
-
Nice of you to congratulate the winners! Thanks!
Jim
-
Yes, you won, but it was SO close to a tie between the two of you on top. Enjoy the Gold trophy!
Jim
-
It was not much separating you from the Gold trophy. You could say you were separated by a fraction of a point.
Jim
-
I missed by a fraction
Then you should have taken away the 100 points from first and my 200 points and given me gold in another contest
Anyways I always applaud when I win a contest with a thanks
-
trying to take my 100 points?
lol well done, mark. Congratulations.
-
Stop fighting, kids! Nobody is taking anybody's points. I said it was close to a tie, not that is WAS a tie. The trophies and points are divided as they should be. More fighting, and I will be forced to reconsider the contest!
Jim
-
Hey we're not fighting.
-
See my answer to you and The Risen Sun, above here... Jim
-
Let him keep the 100 points
