This is my 10 contest! I'm really excited so here how we're going to work this one. We will write poems about different cultures all over the world since we all live on the same planet we might as well get to know one other. Anyone who wants to enter this contest must IM. Then I will IM you a culture. You can write about it's:
1. holidays
2. traditional outfits
3. food
4. customs
5. etc
Here are the rules:
1. All poems must be in goodness. I don't want people insulting other cultures.
2. If you don't like the culture I IM you, then don't write about. You can IM me back, but I will only give you another chance.
3. It can be in any form of poetry.
4. No STiCky cAPs
5. Keep it PG
6. No prewrites
7. Enter as many times as you want
8. Have Fun!

Interesting contest. Wish you luck. This is like the contest I had entered last year where they sent us a flower to write about. But this, you really must do some research. Are you being a diplomat and encouraging tolerance? Good idea.

I'm not sure if my entry is what you're looking for, but I am going to enter what came out. I've felt a poem coming on about Hawaii for some time now, and this contest was the perfect motivation to make it come to light. There are lots of cultural references, Hawaiian words and the Hawaiian pidgin dialect; I hope it's not too confusing. I'll figure out some way to post it so that everything is translated.
