The Real Me (Or Just Your Impression.)

Well, my last contest went well.  I have a few more points to dispense.  What I am looking for is your impression of me.  This is for my birthday, and I am feeling kind of neglected at home.  I am not really looking for a birthday poem, but rather one that describes me, from your POV.  Obviously, this will be for friends.  However, if you think you can figure me out from my work, then have a go.

My rules are simple and the same as always:

No chat, web, or netspeak.
No StIcKy CaPs.
No profanity.
Spellcheck required.
Grammarcheck required.
No stupid phrases in the author's notes.
Fun a must.

I will acknowledge every entry, however, I reserve any critiquing until judging, and only if the entrant asks for it.  Each entrant will receive an applause.  I am not sure if there will be points for second and third.  I was quite generous with the last contest.  It will take some time to build those points back up.

I would like permission to print those poems I like for my own private collection.  If this is a problem, let me know.  It will not affect my judging.

That is all.  This should be easy, on the surface.  The deeper you go, the harder it will be.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on July 9, 2006
  • Rewards: Gold: 500
  • Final notes:
Wow, this was easy to judge. Kind of gives you a chance to see who your friends really are. Oh, well, par for the course.

I chose the order I did because it was logical. I do admit that masterblaster is a friend, and as such, know me fairly well. That may seem unfair, but it is what I asked for: how you see me. I do not know wakingdevil, but just from checking out my bio page and possibly some of my work, they have managed to come pretty close to who I am in my eyes. Shakes-spear seemed to know pretty much, but when it came down to it, the grammar did him in. Sorry, but it is the anal grammar nazi in me.

    So, the list is
    Individuality by masterblaster 300 points
Who You Are... by wakingdevil 100 points
    Who? by Shakes-spear 50 points

Honorable mentions go to the following with 500 points each:

Oh, yeah, there were no more. So, you all lost out on 500 points. LOL

    masterblaster,
I may. I did want to judge it before the big day, but it depends on what happens with the entries. You can be as honest as you like. I know my faults and foibles. I am tenacious in a not good way. If I asked for it, I can take it. Drop a line, now and then.

Thank you, those who entered. You made my birthday a little more bearable. I did get a card and dinner out from the Dude, so it was not a total wash. LOL And, 3/4 of the kids wished me Happy Birthday. I am content.

    MB,
Well, as much as I deplore contests that give placings to friends, with only three, you were bound to get one, and you did have the best description of me, so it was a no-brainer. I love the form, even though I do not think it is for me to try. Maybe someday, but this is not that day.
