OK folks, I have a mission for you should you chose to accept it.
I have been reading some letters and articles being written and sent to a pagan based e-zine that I read www.paganpages.org by a pagan soldier. His name is Eric and he has started a grove there on base called The Desert Moon Grove.
They are in need of things to read, so I thought that I would host a contest and invite everyone to post a poem for the troops.So that I may Print them out and send them to them.
This is what I would like to have from you:
I want things that are spiritual, remember these are pagan troops,NO BASHING!!! I will DQ you!!!
I want things that are uplifting.
I want some poems that thank them and their families for all that they do, and they do a great deal! At one point in my life I had seriously thought about joining the military, so I know the kinds of things it takes to join, and take on that fight and responsibility to keep the freedoms and the values that we have already shed blood over to win. I think too many people have forgo ten that the freedom that they have is not ever or will it be free.
OK sorry for the rant!
you may enter prewrites, but only one per poet, I will DELETE any beyond that. If you would like however to write something fresh you may enter 2-3 but no more.
I have a 50 poem limit on this one.
Also if you have a image that you would like to put with the poem that would be great! I think that would look very nice and give them a little taste of back home.

I will also have the three winners on the first pages, followed by the HM, then all the rest! I know they will all be great and I'm going to have a tremendous time judging!

My entry is out of appreciation for all that they are trying to do over there. My oldest nephew will be entering the Army soon and I certainly have a soft spot for these guys and gals who are serving today. Most of my family has served in he armed forces in some way and I just appreciate them. Thanks for hosting a much needed contest honoring a group of much needed people in this world.

u mentioned givin them somethin to remind them of home? the moon, everyone can see it and many a time has millions of us lookeda at it at once. also, the soldier u mentioned was pagan so this is for him. something i can relate to. im not american so therefore i cannot play a part in your wars but your men are definintly brave.
