If you don't already know, even though I have been whining for weeks about my grand grand dying. She is now dead. If you don't know that is great grandmother. I loved my grand grand. well since I am not feeling good enough to write a poem for Grand Grand herself. Please inspire me.
My grand grand was christan, loved flowers, and pictures of angels.
A ) I want you people to write a poem for my grand grand.
Or
B ) You can write about losing someone near and dear to you.
Or
C ) You can write about how you would feel if someone you loved like a grandmother, mother, or someone you loved died just before a holiday that is to celebrate them.
Or
D ) You can write a spiritual piece talking about the other side. Make me feel like it is a good place.
Rules because there always is some:
1) you must pick a letter and write about it. Please put the letter in the box below your poem so I know which one you picked
2) make it nice. No suicides or negative poems. You can have a friend who was lost to suicide, but i don't want the details and such.
3) please put 'Rest in peace' in the box below your poem
4) you can only enter once. sorry, I have a scrambled mind and people entering more than once makes it a little unfair to those who want to enter.
5) have fun.
6) I am allowing pre-writes, but I don't want too many of them. That makes it feel impersonal and hurts my feelings.
so please keep the pre-writes to a minimum.
thank you and have a wonderful day!

Okay, you all have entered and done very well. But about half of you forgot to read the rules. I will give you a day and a half to fix that or else you will be disqualified. I don't want to disqualify anyone, but I can't award someone a trophy if they don't remember to read the rules. I know sometimes you forget or space out on those things so I am giveing you this time. Please don't waste it. thank you and good luck.

My deepest condolences on the death of your beloved great-grandmother. Requiescat in pace!..
-
I know how you feel. My grandmother passed away in April of last year and my cousin passed away at the age of ten in February of this year. I wrote a couple of poems for them. So, perhaps I will enter this contest. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family and I wish you the best of luck with judging this. I know how it is to love someone and to lose them.

Hi, you say prewrites are impersonal, no, my friend, we write a poem when inspired, moved by something, better to read a poem that is inspired than one that is forced just for a comp,I say this with the greatest respect for your comp, all the best, hugs Di

Hey... sorry about your great grandmother passing away. You're lucky in a sense... I haven't even seen any of my great grandmothers. Anyways, I decided to leave 'Rest in peace' here, if that's alright with you. Oh, and I did option B for the contest. Thanks for holding this contest.. hope it'll be worth it for you!

I am so sorry for your loss. This is a very kind, wonderful contest. Your option D "You can write a spiritual piece talking about the other side. Make me feel like it is a good place."
could be a whole contest all it's own. For any of us that has recently lost a loved one it is SO IMPORTANT for us to know where they are,who is taking care of them, are they well.....You really should consider doing a seperate contest for that, you will find MANY works of inspiration to help you understand, to help you grieve. I am grieving from a recent loss myself, and some days are just unbearable, just getting up and moving takes all the energy I have. May you move quickly and swiftly thru this process, as it is MOST important that we find a way to CELEBRATE the life of my brother and your Grand Grand, it is most important to our hearts, to our souls and to them as they try to rest and wait for us in eternal life.
Again, I am sorry for your loss....may time and the presence of your Grandmother ease your pain.
Blessings,
Terri Norris

Thank you so much for the bronze trophy. My poem "Just A Moment" was about my brother who passed in Sept 05 at the age of 44. It is filled with so much love and passion, as I did and do miss him with all my heart. I am glad that it touched you, may you find peace as you grieve for your dear Grand Grand, and remember, although it may seem as though she is gone, just look into your eyes, into your heart, for that is where she lives now, forever with you.
Blessings,
Terri Norris
