I am co-hosting this contest with my AP niece Elenna.
I.E. She helped me with the ideas and will be judging this contest with me.
First let's get to the rules! Dun dun dun!
No chat speak (U R Weird)
No sticky caps (I cAn'T tAkE tHiS!)
No caps lock ( ALL IN CAPITAL LETTERS.)
Please try to use proper grammar unless it's the way someone speaks
USE SPELL CHECK!!!!!
Limit it to 2 poems per person
1 Prewrite per person only if it fits one of the categories. (or it will be DQed)
No erotica
No swearing
Pg -13 max rating (exception to this rule is for options 4 and 5 (Both can be rated R for blood, guts and carnage stuff)
You MUST have 'It isn't fair!' in your authors comment box to show you have read the rules
Now to the options!
Option 1. Anime/Manga: Whatever one you like. Write a poem on it, a character ect...Is there anyone who likes something OTHER than InuYasha?!?
We are accepting those kinds of anime poems but really people! Are there not other great Manga out there?
Option 2. General Fantasy or stuff based on Labyrinth and Lord of the Rings and Harry potter.
If you are doing a poem with fantasy creatures only use:
Pixies
Vampires
Wolves
Goblins
Elves
Dwarves
Hobbits
For the next two I'll add an automatic applause:
Doxy
Fwooper
(Read 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' in order to find out about these creatures. But I must ask that you do not describe them. Instead I ask that you to think about what kind of life they lead. If you met one what would you do? Stuff like that)
Option 3. Send one of us a message requesting words for option three. One of us will send you two words; you must use one word in the title of your poem, and the other somewhere in the body of your poem.
IM either Master Warious allpoetry.com/poets/Master%20Warious
or Elenna allpoetry.com/poets/Elenna
(Idea borrowed from onyxsoul)
Option 4. Write an epic war poem concerning the Revolutionary war.
Auto applause from Master Warious if done from the British point of view.
And none of this 'We won you lost' dumb stuff. I want to see a magnificent tale about the revolutionary war. Heck even fanfic poems on 'The Patriot' is welcome...Just know I don't like Martin. Tavington has my support all the way!
Option 5: Write about Pearl Harbor. Dito on the 'we won you lost thing' in option 4
(Elenna: It can be about Hawaii as long as Pearl Harbor is also mentioned in the poem.)
NOTE:
We will judge this contest as son as possible. But I need to consult with my Co-judge/host before we reach our final decision.
We appreciate your patience and thank you all for entering.

I'm so extremely busy I might not be able to make this contest but you know what, it looks kind of fun, so I'll try.
-Chase -
I like to write fantasy poems with the lovely faery/pixie folk having fun in the sparkling forests. I shall return and shower some fantasy on you. Thanks for the contest!
-
lol, you really liked my contest idea, ne?
-
We really liked the idea! You really inspired us!
-
^.- Whoa, a challenge..... I thinks number 4 is calling me.... yes... it is.....
-
Do ogres fall into the goblin category, or are they out? I have a poem about a battle between elves and ogres.
-
Option 3 in this one.
-
Sure. That will fit since it already has elves in it.
I look forward to reading your poem. ^_^ -
Hey. For the Fantasy option, does Star Wars count???? *pouts* Pweeeease??? hehe. If not, I'll do something else.
-
I'll make exception for you. But make it reallly good please.
-
Sounds like a fun contest. Your entries will be remarkable.

Great idea!
I don't have any fantasy poems in me at the moment, but this is a great idea for a contest. Too bad I couldn't enter a story. I have three chapters of a fantasy story up, with dire wolves and goblins and knights in it (which is where all my writing energy has been going as of late). Oh well. Good luck with your contest. I hope you get lots of great entries.

I'd actually ask Elenna about that. She might approve of the story. Just tell her I said it's her call. ^_^
allpoetry.com/poets/Elenna -
I have some new stuff on vampires, and I'm waiting to get it back from my teacher. I'll probably enter later.
-
I am interested in this contest! It will be hard to decide which category to write for!
-
Well you can do two poems so you can do one on your two favorite options.
(I'm reallly looking for one in number four and five though but you don't have to do those) -
Oh! I like your option 4. I might have to make a poem about Tavington
Or more his role in it... sigh
-
^_^
Sounds cool to me! -
Cool, I will participate. I am deciding between anime or fantasy. I am surprised fairies were not an option for fantasy. If I do an anime, I promise it won't be about Inuyasha. Although a good anime, there are others.
-
Sounds like a fun contest Hope you have a good luck with it. I won't be entering though as I am not a fantasy writer my real life daughter blue-silver-dragon is into the fantasy though
-
I don't mind at all, in fact...I'd be very interested in reading that if you enter it!
-
The Chronicles of Drath, Chapter One has been entered. The names are kind of outrageous, and my goblins are called "HobberGobs," but there you go. Enjoy.
Oh, and if you could leave a constructive crit, I would appreciate it a lot. I am trying to make this story the best it can be.
Thanks so much.
~Tawnya~ -
Why so many options? It seems to me to make more sense to have all poems in a contest somewhat similar in character. In judging you will be comparing apples and oranges.
-
H'lo...I am just wonderin how the judging is going...
-
Wow... thanks for the bronze. It was a fun contest.
Congratulations to the other winners and Honorable Mentions! *clap*
~Tawnya~ -
Wow, thanks so much for the gold. I had a lot of fun being in this contest. Honestly, I never thought I'd find a contest to put this poem in so winning first with it means so much to me. Thanks again. And Congrats to the other winners and honorable mentions!
