If you do not agree with homosexuality, or anything of the sort, just leave. Do NOT comment, do NOT IM me, or any of the people who enter, you will just be ignored. Just leave this page if you do not agree, and find a different contest
I've made this contest for a few reasons.
1. Day of Silence! If you don't know what the day of silence is, it's a day (April 26th) when Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transgenders, and Straights alike keep silent for a day to represent the voice taken from GLBTs in most of society.
2. The relationship with me and my first girlfriend.
3. There are very few contests out there for GLBT love!
So, I don't think I'm going to have very many rules, anything about GLBT love is what I'm looking for. You'll get brownie points in you can put in something on this list:
-Coming out
-Acceptance after you come out
-Support
Or anything else of that sort!
Erotica isn't what I'm looking for, so please, none of that. A little kissing or something is okay, but no yucky stuff.
I will try and comment on every piece before judging, even though that didn't quite work out with my last contest, but I had to go on vacation then, so I'll have more time to comment on the contest.
Give me your best, good luck, and have fun!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 23, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 350
- Final notes: I'm sorry it took me almost two weeks to judge this, I got sick a couple of times. Anywho, this was such a WONDERFUL contest.
When I first made this contest, as I said I had just gotten a new girlfriend and I was so excited, I just had to read some stuff on other relationships and different perspectives from different people. I LOVED the entries, so many hit me so close to home.
Some touched me even more after I told my mom that I'm a lesbian, and that went horrible. Almost as bad as you can get without kicking me out, sometimes making me wish they had. And I went back through and read thse, and it was just overwhelming, so many good poets with things to say entered and it was just amazing to relate. I hope anyone out there struggling with themselves, or know someone who is, can help themselves or that person. One person reaching out and sticking up for you can make all the difference in the world.
Anywho, like I said there were few enteries I didn't like, and I feel that the top three winners deserved it.
Some other poems that were very good:
Fighting Back by TheDevilInYourHead
First Love by Dave Martin
Uncomfortable by Syrinity
Together by mmb2006
The One Simple Thing by uncertified genius
and
getting a grip by mister nemo

Happy silence day. I was hoping to go to school and just not say a word but today I am sick so I couldn't go. I am alone at home and not talking... Next year for sure though! I am in an uncreative mood today so I most likely will not be entering. But good luck to every you does.

awesome contest. i actually have a story up called 'The Patients'. there are some characters who are gay and a character who is transgender. in fact, the newest episode "Come Clean Or Don't At All" involves a girl who is having a hard time being a lesibian. i can't enter it cause it's a story but i hope you check out. good luck with the contest!
<3 always,

this is a great contest. my best friends and i made shirts for today (the day of silence) and they said 'i love GLBT's" and the love was written inside an upside down pink triangle. and even though a few people were vicious most people accepted our message we spread. there was a protest outside however, given by a christian community, to spread their hate and ugly messages. that was very upsetting until i got on here and found this contest. im glad so many other people have support for such a great cause. good luck to you in your new relationship also!

Thanks for all the comments on this contest. Me and my friends were also going to make t-shirts and wear them to school, but I got sick too so I didn't.
-
Just a note to say congratulations with your first girlfriend
(I know different from everyone else's comment, perhaps I'm feeling a bit guilty about not knowing the date- I always plan on doing days of silence and always forget
)

this is such an amazing contest. i applaude you and admire you that you're brave enough to run this contest (there are so many conservative christians on this site that could easily get offened) but you stand tall and dont hide your feelings.
you've inspired me! did you know on 4/26 was a day of silence for gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals? it was a day of silence to stop the disgrimination against those types of people. i was happy to participate
anyway, good luck judging your contest
-
oh i just re-read your contest & you do know about a day of silence! haha silly me
-
Hehe
Thanks for the awesome comment! I know some people could get offended, but too bad for them, hehe.
-
lol sorry I entered 3 but all of them are about GLBT(maybe not all of them love but all of them fight for our rights). If you would like me to remove 2 I will I just thought I'd enter them all and see what you think.
-
Nope, you can enter as many as you want, as long as they're all quality.
