This contest is a letter writing one. It need not be long, but it can be as long as you want. We will, however, get into the rules in a minute.
Here is the deal. I want you to write something - a note or a letter - to ten people in your life or who have been in your life. Write 10 things to 10 people (leaving them anonymous) that you would never tell them but wish you could.
Now, the horrifying rules!
1. Keep the people you are telling your 10 things to anonymous.
2. This is not one big note or letter, but rather 10 sections that would be given to these people separate (you don't actually have to give them to anyone). Keep them all as one item (please don't make ten different submissions here, I can't keep track of them), just number each note 1 through 10 on the same "page".
3. These can be letters, poems, songs... anything that grabs you to tell them what you want to. Be creative! (this contest will only accept things saved as "poems" obviously, but you don't have to make it a poem.)
4. Try not to be too cliche. These should be real people, either online or offline, and real things you wish to say. I understand that sometimes life and emotions are cliche, and one or two of these notes may be so. But not the whole group.
5. No one liner notes. Make it heart felt and well thought out, and each note should be at least five full sentences or more.
6. Please nothing violently hateful. I don't want to read about you wanting to hack someone to pieces. If you want to tell someone how you really hate them, then fine, as long as it heartfelt and there is a reason for it. But please make this reason unusual, not because they stole your boy/girlfriend for the prom, etc. Keep it mature. And remember, these are things you wish you could tell them, but never would, so make sure what you are saying isn't something that would be obvious to the person. But nothing erotic, either. And please no foul language for this one.
7. No more than 2 submissions per person... 2 submissions = 20 notes in groups of 10.
8. Don't worry, reading my stuff and the submissions of others is not needed for this contest.
9. I will trust that you read the rules without requiring a silly saying in your comments. But if you break any of them, your submission will be declined. If there is time left for you to fix the errors, I will let you know what rules you broke so you can fix them and resubmit.
The Winners:
Due to donations, first place is up to 550 points, with second and third place changing. See below. Note: upon winning first place, 400 points will go to you through the system, the additional points will be sent seperate since I am not allowed to increase the amount in the system.
UPDATES!
We've had donations! Donations are welcome! We have had some already.
Closet Poet - 250 points
DianaBlueLove - 100 points
SexyAngel0418 - 145 points
Mister Nemo - 150 points
This means... prizes for second and third place! 247 points to the second and third place winners. And the prizes will go up with donations recieved. If we get enough, I will also raise the 1st place prize to suit. Thanks!
Last minute update: I have begun judging these pieces. Please remain patient with me. I'm going through each piece several times, and I already have a few pieces listed to be read again for final choices. But, as is the nature of this contest, the pieces in many cases are a bit long, which is a good thing. I'm trying to peck off at least ten a night, so hopefully the contest will be totally judged by Thursday morning. I know this is an excuse, but I have also just started a relationship and we've been together every day since we met. I'm trying to not let it cut into anything, especially this because I take contests seriously here, but it has a bit already, and I'm sorry. But hopefully... Thursday morning three people will have new trophies to display, and you can know you earned them. Anyone who makes my "finals" list will be posted as an honorable mention, also. Thanks for your patience!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on May 9, 2006
- Rewards: Gold: 400
- Final notes: Ok... this was the hardest contest I have ever had to judge here! LOL! It was tough trying to keep myself from going for the ones that touched home base, that isn't the point of the contest. But there was really a lot of honesty and emotion, towards the people you wrote to but also yourselves. I hope you all got something out of this, it appears you did.
Now, the list of honorable mentions. As you can see, I had a lot of pieces I really liked, and all of these in the contest deserve to be read. These were just the ones that grabbed me the most and I read a few extra times for consideration. Just the author names here, because there are a few.

this is a really lovely contest idea... i know that for a long time i've had things i would have liked to say... but just don't have the courage for. i think a lot of people do. and this is a way to get a little closer to saying what probably needs to be said.
so really, i love this idea. -
oh, and by the way, the person who commented before me offered to donate points for your contest and i think that's very generous of them. i'd be willing to as well, if you'd like.
-
Wow. This contest is doing something I didn't think was possible. Some of the writes have brought forgiveness to others, and understanding. Congrats on a real good idea. This contest has perhaps stopped a lot of hurt feelings.
Wonderful idea!

They don't have to be offline friends, they can be online friends. They are people in our lives, too, after all, so if you want to do that, it is 100% ok.
-
Donations are always welcome if you decide you want to give one. It is completely up to you. I appreciate the thought!

Aaaaah, this sounds like such a great contest! I'm definitely going to enter! Watch out! hehe
-
Hmm, I don't think I know enough people to be able to do this contest. But I think I'll try and make a list of people that I would like to say something to, just to see if I would have 10 to write something about for this.
-
this is an amazing idea for a contest. it actually helped me. lol. i see what i would want to say to some people, ones who are friends, and those i do not like.
Thank you for this great contest... no matter what the results are.
best wishes,

Thank you so much for the bronze. I entered this never expecting to even win anything just gave me a chance to say things I would have never said. I have read many of these entries and they were awesome. Congrats to the winners, all of the poets, and most of all, to the contest holder for this contest...It was amazing...
