ANYONE CAN ENTER
Here are the options:
1. You are a leaf on a tree just before autumn, you can see the other leaves falling - tell me what it feels like to know your impending demise.
2. You have three days to live and decide to visit a place you have never been. Paint me a picture of it.
3. Find a map or a globe, close your eyes, point, open your eyes and write an ACROSTIC with the name of the place you found.
4. You wake up from a dream and you have been transported to another land with green rolling hills and tall grass. What kind of creatures live there? Be specific, paint me a picture.
5. Your favorite song has been permanently banned from all radio stations. Write a performance piece to express your anger.
6. If you have seen V for Vendetta (an amazing film, btw), write a short piece expressing the meaning of the events from
a. V's point of view
b. Evy's point of view, or
c. the detective's point of view.
7. Show me what it is to be a vase of flowers.
8. Describe your first childhood crush
9. Remember a class you hated in high school (younger folks, jr high or elementary, whatever) and explain why - in detail. please don't include the word "because" too often, it's too easy.
and last but not least!!!
10. Write a poem about what your telephone would say about you.
NOW FOR THE RULES - not many, no worries
a. rhyme or don't rhyme, it doesn't matter but forced rhymes annoy me.
2. please no sTiCkY CaPs or net lingo (l8r) i can't read it and uh... what's the other one? oh - keep cursing to a minimum unless it really has an important place in your piece - erotica doesn't apply to any options, if you think so, IM poeticemily.
b. I'm going to allow prewrites, but only if the piece REALLY fits with the option. If I think it doesn't quite fit I'll IM you and we can chat.
III. please write "PoeticEmily just turned THIRTY" and put the option you chose in the author comments.
PRIZES
First - 300 points plus Gold Trophy
Second - 50 points plus Silver Trophy
Third - 25 points plus Bronze Trophy
I have 25 more points to split between HMs if there are enough entries.
