I’ve gain a bunch of points recently and I wasn’t sure what sort of contest I should hold. So I’m combining all my ideas.
The reason(s) I am hosting this contest:
I’ve never had any of my relationships end well. I didn’t date for two and a half years after a practically bad break up because I was afraid of getting hurt. I still am and I have a lot of trouble trusting love. Recently I started dating again. I got my heart broken. But I realized that I have to stop being afraid. So I am continuing to date. I’ve gone out with a guy I really like but I can’t stop thinking that I am setting myself up for heartbreak.
Options/The wonderful combination of all the things I’m going through:
1. Falling in love
2. Heartbreak
3. Trusting love after heartbreak
4. Fear of love
5. Trust in love, a relationship, your significant other, and/or yourself
I know you’ve got something to fit one of these options.
Rules
1. As many entries as you would like
2. Cursing is perfectly fine
3. Prewrites are allowed
4. No bashing unless you’re talking about your ex
(What I mean is no sexist, racist, homophobic, etc. comments)

- Final notes: Thank you to everyone who entered. I'm sorry it took me so long to judge this contest. Normally it only takes me a few days but several things got in the way (end of the marking period, stress, SATs, a 15 milimeter sewing needle lodged in my foot), and the number of entries were overwhemling. However, the turn out for this contest was excellent. What I mean to say I dont think I got a single poem I didn't like and I'm not just saying that.

I like your five options. I've never been totally heart-broken, but I've come close. I love the title of your poem... That'd make a great line in a poem.

Your contest is good as it allows for the love and the pain.I have written writes about the pain of a fragmented heart,but I decided to enter how it felt when I found love after letting myself love again.There are no guarantees that our hearts won`t get broken again but if we don`t remain hopeful and open to giving and recieving we won`t have the highs or lows of love but lonlieness.I know how hard it is to trust again and I wish you happiness and lot`s of great entries,love and light,Yvette

wow!! im in almost the same position you are except I don't have a new boyfriend...I'm even jumior too. i like a couple guys but i know im gonna graduate and move away and i believe im setting myself up for another fall, so i wont let myself pursue them. am I crazy?! Thank you for your contest. I read the winners, and BRAVO to you...they were certainly worthy. I also wanted to thank you for my Honerable Mention on 1500 Days ago. I think it is so cool when a prewrite gets some recognition....usually it is a poem written out of emotion and love, be it good or bad, and not just for a contest.
Again, BRAVO to you for your choices on the winners...and please, stay away from sewing needles...they can be very dangerous!
