This is a group contest for the Sisterhood of Cats. All non member entries will be disqualified. If you are interested in the group click here

UPDATE
Ok, fellow kitties. I am blaming lack of time, spring breaks, and March madness for our limited participation in the group contest. I am going to open it to prewrites as long as your prewrite is inspired by one of our past or present feline comrades. I also want to allow you to write about the people in cat suits who run your life at home
.
If I still only have 2 entries, I will award gold and silver medals only. If I only have 3, I will award gold, silver, and bronze. If I end up with 10 or more entries, I will probably include at least 1 Honorable mention, depending on my available points.
At any rate, I won't extend the contest any longer than I already have. The 2 entries there now have been posted since early in the contest and I don't want to make them wait any longer than they have to in order to know the results.
So, keep in mind
2 Options--past or present members of the group or your favorite real life cat
Now open to prewrites.
If you could care less about the group or becoming a member of it, I am running another contest that is open to the public. You might prefer it to this one. The link is
allpoetry.com/poem/1864351
Since this is a group contest with the purpose of getting to know our co-group members, I want you all to simply poke around the members list in the group and check out a few of your fellow kitties writing, author pages etc and then write a poem about the group member of your choice.
Now before anyone bothers the moderators reporting the contest for required reading, make note--THERE IS NO REQUIREMENT TO COMMENT ON ANYONE. It would be a nice thing to do and quite easy on you since you are going to be reading work anyway, but you are by no means required to do so. Try to read someone you don't already know in the group and try to get acquainted.
Rules
1. For the purpose of this contest, DO NOT PICK ME AS YOUR TOPIC. I love the poems people write for me, but I do not want to appear biased in my judging. So save anything you might want to write for me for another time. Pick anyone else in the group. Entries about me will have to be disqualified so that it is a fair contest for all.
2. No bashing another member. If there is a member you don't like, don't write about them here. Pick someone you can say nice things to and about.
3. Take it easy on old folks eyes. Limit use of sticky caps and make sure they serve a creative purpose and please use spell check.
4. Make note in your authors notes the person you wrote about if it is not clear from your poem.
5. No prewrites this time. Don't ask even if you have the perfect poem you wish to enter. Just write another perfect poem and save your prewrite for another contest.
6. You may enter twice.
To the victor go the spoils
1st place -- 500 points and golden airtight catnip holder
2nd place -- 200 points and silver water bowl
3rd place -- 100 points and bronze window seat
All entries will be applauded and added to my --Brave Souls-- list on my author page. All winners will be listed in my --Hall of Fame-- list.

Oh MY! I thought you meant Cat's Group as in The Evil Wenches Catressa (Cat). LOL Sorry for clicking and wasting your points. I will come back to read some of the entries. Good luck and have fun!

Alright! I'll try and submit something, since I think I am the newest (or close to newest) kitty in the sisterhood. The only thing is that I'm more of a story kind of person, and I'm not exactly sure how I would write a story about one of the members. It would be kind of hard! I'll try and work something in. Hey, maybe I will write a poem, although I've never been that good at writing them!
-
I wish you much luck with your group and your contest...hope that you get a lot of entries ~ Have a great day, James
-
I think it's good to have contests just for group members. However, I have not seen this, so it is a new concept to me. I am interested in entering this contest, but I am not interested in being in the group, because I am already in two groups, and too many groups could be a hassle. Thank you for posting this contest though. It gives everyone a little reminder that being in groups has some nice benefits. This is a very good idea
. Thank you.

Interesting contest here, looking forward to reading some of these entries! Sounds like a good reading group too for women. Good luck!
-
I'll work on something, and donate a few points when I can
-
If you write stories more often than poems, write a short 1 page story and then go back and just try to remove bits and pieces that are not necessary and turn it into a freeverse poem
Poems are quite often stories and there is no rule that says they have to rhyme
-
If you arent interested in the group, feel free to check out my second contest. It is open to anyone
-
hmm i may enter this...i don't really know anyone in this group though guess i will now!

As Brother Boots in the Sisterhood, I shall do my utmost to participate in this wonderful contest. I miss my sister cat Gemma (SweetSilverNinja), and I would write for her, if that would be permitted.
Yours,
Brother Boots Kain
-
I'm working on something
-
Kain, it would most definately be permitted and welcomed for you to write about Gemma. She is the reason we made it this far, after all and I am sure that many of us who miss her will appreciate the thoughts. Besides, just because she is on an AP break doesn't mean she doesn't check in from time to time to see what we are up to
.
-
Looking forward to your entry
.
-
Don't forget, you can enter 2 times so if you have a hard time narrowing it down to 1 person, pick 2
-
o no... i have one that fits (about a cat i used to have) but it's somewhere deep in an old journal...maybe i can find it?? or just write a new one? anyway... i still haven't been in the group long so i don't know anyone enough to write one about a group member... hopefully i get enough time to spend in the group forum so we can chitchat and whatnot... 3 days left huh? i'll try to find that one that's buried somewhere...

We'll all be tickled pink.
