THERE ARE A FEW REQUIREMENTS HOWEVER FOR THIS CONTEST, AND I HATE DOING IT. BUT I WANT GREAT POEMS, I WON'T SETTLE FOR LESS. SO, TO ENTER YOU MUST HAVE ATLEAST 5 TROPHIES AND I WILL CHECK. IF YOU HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THAT YOU CAN ALWAYS IM ME. IF YOU ENETER AND DO NOT MEET MY REQUIRMENT, I JUST WON'T READ YOUR POEM UNTIL AFTER I HAND OUT THE TROPHIES.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on March 2, 2006

- Final notes: thnak you all for entering, poeple were pissing me off wanting pre-writes to be allowed. I wanted fresh poetry by fresh poets and thats exactly what I got. I honestly enjoyed the majority of the enteries, much unlike my other contests. Judging is always hard, but I went with the feeling of how real the poem was.

I am unable to enter as I am not a great poet,just a poet.I have four trophys and two honorable mentions.I only found ap three weeks ago and I have much to learn!Coincidentally I do have a pre write self portrait ,which encapsulates the essence of me,so,even if I was qualified to enter I couldn`t as I have already written it...mmmmm scope for an alter ego? Oops...I just now saw that prewrites are not allowed.....and I also think I just figured out what you were refering to about trophies. Sorry, like I said, I'm new at this. I can't even figure out how to IM you so I can figure out how to fix all of this.

by her name, there is a little (im) thing, if you click on that then on the left of your sscreen a little box wil appear under the chatterbox. if you just click in it type, then presss send i wil go to her. as for trophies...they are virtual and just signify on your authors page that you have come first or secon or watever, so the person is saying you must have placed in a certain amount of contests to enter. hope that helps, and welcome to AP

wow...i too will come back and look in at all the "great" poets who enter here! i have a lot of those little trophy things but i dont think that means a whole lot on this site...a lot of that is complete popularity contests, and those that award trophies to thier "AP family members" if i was in a virtual family i am sure i might be the 'black sheep' but getting back to the issue at hand...most "great" poets here are self-centered enough that they have already written a poem about themselves, me included
and you aren't allowing prewrites, so pffft.....then again, if i was a real "great" poet, i should have no trouble at all in coming up with a second poem about such an interesting subject! 
i think i will just be a reader on this one....so i hope you get tons of these "great" poems!

If you won't allow prewrites, that's fine too because it's your contest after all. Good luck judging, and have a nice time doing it too! I noticed some of the people who entered your contest are really talented.
