Two Lines

Alright, time for my third contest... I won't be able to keep up this rate though, I am definitely not made of points...

For this contest, I want two lines.
Two beautiful lines that will make me cry, or smile through tears... that will make me laugh, or amazed at the beauty you describe.  I don't care what it is about, I just want beautiful, glorious work here... Something that makes me drop my jaw and say 'Wow...'

If you write about depressing stuff, I want to feel your pain, I want your pain to become my own.
If you are writing erotica, I want it to be the most sensual smut I have ever read
If you are writing about love, I want my heart to melt for the person you are writing about, or the feelings you feel
If you are writing about nature, I want to be in awe of the scene you set for me.

Understand?

It shouldn't be too hard, should it?

Now the rules-
1. Use proper English.  You are trying to impress me here, remember?
2. No sticky caps.
3. No limit on subject matter...
4. No profanity... I promise, I won't be impressed
5. Remember, I want to be impressed!
6. It will be open for 25 and a half hours. Make good use of the time

I will comment on every poem submitted.
I will judge blindly, not even taking note of your username until I am done reading.
I will do all I can to be a responsible contest holder, so please do as you can to be responsible writers.

Prizes-
First- golden trophy of champions and 300 hard-earned points
Second- silver trophy of first losers
Third- bronze trophy of almost winners
Top Three will get applause as well

(I am not made out of points, so I cannot give rewards to the second and third place winners, sorry about that folks)

Good Luck and Happy Writing!

HOLY CRUD I AM GETTING SO MANY AMAZING ENTRIES. I STILL HAVE TONS TO COMMENT ON AND ITS GOING TO BE SO HARD TO JUDGE. GREAT JOB EVERYONE AND GOOD LUCK TO ALL! I WILL LIST OFF A FEW HM'S BUT I REALLY WISH I COULD GIVE SO MANY MORE PRIZES FOR THIS ONE. I AM SORRY I AM SO LOW ON POINTS!

(yes the caps was necesary, I had to express my amazement at the entries I am getting. I think this will be my last contest for a while. So many great poems to read, comment and judge. It almost hurts to have to pick only a few)
Love Peace and Chicken Grease

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on February 21, 2006
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
Okay, wow. I am honored by all the entries I got. I have been reading and critiquing poems for four hours now, and they were all amazing. Seriously, I don't think there was one I didn't like. You all should read them, it won't take you long. The messages are great. It was so hard to pick winners, I read each one probably two or three times before deciding. Thanks everyone, you have nearly exhausted me from contest holding, but I'll have a couple more before I take a nice long break. Thanks again, and you are all amazing.
