It would have been nice if you had even read my poem!! I am a GOLD member so I can see who has read my poetry and your name is not on that list once! How do you expect people to follow your rules etc when you don't even grace their entries with a glance!!

Anyways, what's done is done. I don't give a rats arse that my poem didn't place because it might not have placed anyways. (You won't know that though will you because you didn't read it.) I am mostly annoyed because you didn't bother to read ALL your entries!

Congrats to the winners all the same, atleast your poems were read.

I was pleasantly surprised to see I'd won this contest (especially because the poem means so much to me), but then I came here to thank you and to congratulate the other two trophy winners and I see the comments above. It really isn't fair to the other entrants to not even look at their poems. (It's also appreciated if you leave critiques- which is what I seek when I enter contests). I do appreciate being awarded the gold, and I'm glad you did read my poem, but I would almost feel better knowing winners were drawn from a hat. I'm not saying this to insult you. I know contests are aren't easy to run- they are time consuming (and moreso when you have many options and allow prewrites). If you needed more time, moderators can help you extend it (within reason).
To keep in mind for next time, here's some judging tips:
Sometimes the system messages about new entries arrive too late, or not at all, so relying on them to read your entries is hit-and-miss. To make sure you read every entry, it's easiest to wait till the contest is closed for judging, then click on the first entry listed. Read (and comment) and then click on the "next in contest" link right below the blurb about your contest. Keep doing that until you've come full circle. It helps to go back and see if the poets made changes to their poems (if you suggested anything) so that you can re-evaluate their poem. Trust me, entrants appreciate it when their poems are read and responded to.
Anyways... thank you for the trophy and points, and congratulations to the other trophy winners!
