If any of you are wondering why it's taken so very long for me to judge, please consider we've got almost 40 entries (someone dropped out, boo hoo!) That and I've got so much else to deal with. So please bear with me. I've put aside some of my favourite hobbies-- reading and writing-- to judge this. I've got about ten more to go.
There is and has been taking off like a wild bird from the tether of this falconer, a contest so wild, so frenetic, so romantic as a tango, and it's flying, soaring, spinning like a dervish; the theme is dancing. Any poems about dancing, watching dance, wishing to dance, learning to dance, and so forth.
I have thought and pondered a bit about rules, but basically I think that you should just abide by fairness standards, present your own work, and if you borrow from others, like some hip hop artists do, then give the original authors credit, or better yet, ask them for permission, unless their work's in the public domain. I refer you to the Fair Contests Group and Standard.

- Final notes: First of all, I'll have to say that each and every poem was a special gift. I enjoyed each one, and let me tell you this was the hardest of the three contests which I've judged. I've tried to use a standard to help me in grading, but even so, poetry is NOT a thing which you can easily quantify! It's near impossible! But I felt I had to try, at least it forces me to think about the different aspects of the poem. And I DO thank you all, from the centre of my heart, on this Valentine's Day. G-d bless you all! May your dreams come true!

Reading the notes of this contest, I have to wonder if you intended for this contest to be the "dance" contest...or is there going to be another one?
